Princess Luna looked at Dark Guardian and sighed. "Really? 'Dark Guardian?' Do you honestly intend to spend your vacation playing superhero?" Dark Guardian grinned. "As a matter of fact, Princess, I do. You may be able to make me take a vacation, but not even you can tell me what to do with it. Besides, beating up a few petty criminals will be a good way to relax after the last mission you and Celestia sent me on." The Night Princess sighed again. "Okay... but what about your secret identity? There aren't exactly a lot of Lunar Pegasi flying around with Timber-Wolves. Everypony will know who you really are." Dark Guardian continued grinning. "Maybe, maybe not." Dark Guardian picked up his Timber-Wolf companion, Deadly Nightshade, and flew out of the palace, heading for the building where he knew the Justice Society of Equestria met.
Roulette was flying towards the meeting location of the Justice Society, humming a light tune. She was very excited that she may finally be able to use her twisted little abilities to the benefit of someone, and since she had been accepted into the group, she wanted to get there as quickly as she could. Suddenly her eyes faded into a dull grey color and her legs got heavy. Her body was slowly getting covered by a silver color. "Nononononono! Not this one now!" She started falling, and her wings were finally covered in the silver color and she dropped like a rock. She slammed into the ground, leaving a large imprint. Eventually she stood up, completely unharmed but completely silver in color, save her eyes. "Damnit all." With that and an angry grunt, she started running as fast as her now steel body could carry her.
Deciding to become apart of the gig almost a year ago, Crimson had designed another pair of armor for his role in The Justice Society. While he acted as Celestia's special role as 'Archangel', she organized a transfer to the society for him to fulfill his role to a more efficient capacity by taking down crime. Already in his armor, he was heading to his armory to take his weapons. As a thank you from Venquis since the tournament, the Eriborian had forged a custom Spell-Sword for Crimson to use. It was a basic Spell-Sword, with a slightly darkened blade for when Crimson was performing stealth missions. He equipped his Spell-Sword, took his pistols, equipped his shock gloves and went upstairs towards the command center. Meanwhile.... The hooded figure walked past the Equestrian borders. What had surprised the guards there was that he was a Alicorn and that he appeared to be of an unknown origin. To completely hide his energy signature and make him completely undetectable from what he would consider his enemies, such as the Princess he had heard about, he wore a small gold chain across this forehoof's. Considering that he seemed to cause no trouble or suspicion, they allowed him to pass. The shadow produced by the long hood completely covered his entire face with the exception of the lower part of his face starting from the mouth to the chin. He had many objectives in Equestria, but he was going to remind Equestria of who it's real master was. And he was going to sweep across the kingdom and take down all enemies until he was in power. Because to create, one must first destory...
Nights was in quite a hurry. He was running late for the meeting, "Not today! If I miss this now they might kick me out!" He threw on his "disguise" as he liked to call it. Really it was just something from his wardrobe. He didn't really have much of a life outside of saving ponies anyway. He looked at his ring laying on the table, "I thought I was forgetting something." A strange, dual colored, aura emerged from his horn. It was a mixture of white and black. Just like the aura on his horn, the ring became immersed in it as well. Quickly, the ring made it's way onto Nights horn. He quickly jetted out the door, galloping as hard as he could, "Now, time to-" He was cut off by a scream from somewhere nearby, "Help!" The voice was loud and high pitched. He was instantly reminded of the first day he found his calling. Without hesitation he made his way to the screaming. He found a mare crying in front of her door. He carefully made his way over to her and gently spoke, "Excuse me, miss?" She jolted, almost falling over in surprise, "Oh, umh, hello!" "Is everything okay?" He glanced at the door wondering what had upset her. "Yes, everything is fine I just ..." she hesitated, "I've just been through a breakup, I lost my job, and all my bills are due. To top it off, I locked my keys inside. It's just too much and I sort of broke down." Nights frowned, "I'm very sorry to hear all that. Where exactly inside are your keys?" "Just through the door on the table," the mare raised a hoof to wipe a tear away. "No problem," Nights made a flash, teleporting inside and grabbing the keys, then teleporting back outside. "Here you go," Nights held the keys out for the mare to take. "Th-thank you!," she took the keys looking at Nights in utter disbelief. "Also, there's a three story house down the road. I don't stay there often, but I keep the bills paid. If you ever find yourself needing a place to stay my doors are always opened. Literally, I never lock the doors. I know what it's like having nowhere to go," Nights smiled in way that almost made the mare want to cry. "There's several bedrooms. Mine's the only one on the first floor. Feel free to take any of the others." With that he was off, a flash and he was gone. The mare stood there, astounded, "Um, okay?"
Life pool was already at the command centre relaxing on his chair with his hooves up. "Moooornin, This ain't another Dark plague is it. If it is I better be getting some cooler swag from Luna than last time." he said jokingly to Crimson once he came up. Life pool was a veteran in this. Even being part of the original team. Alongside the like of Joker, the mysterious ma do well, Pain, Ecliptic and the Gentleman. "Those were the days." he ether reminiscing about the past before noticing crim. "not to offend you and the newbies though."
"No offense taken. The original team retired years ago, they went ahead to perform bigger and better things. They might still be around if we look hard enough, but I'm sure that their final reports said that they wanted to return to a normal life." Crimson said as he walked past rows upon rows of computers and ponies hard at work. "Joker's still here, but he's been what you would call a hermit. Nopony's seen him in weeks, he's apparently working on something." Crimson then handed a report to Lifepool. "This happened this morning, reports are coming in unlike anything we have ever seen. Approximately 953 miles to the southwest, coming towards Ardelan. At the border between Ardelan and Equestria, reports about a cloaked figure was traveling into Equestria through the border town not far from the mountain range that is Ardelan's Black Pass. They noticed the figure, observed that nothing was the trouble and let him past. Five minutes later, we've lost communication with the town itself. Cause is unknown, but we obviously know that something is up. We've worked long enough to know the tricks of the trade by now, and i can tell you now that it was attacked." "Dark Plague, or as he is now known by his original name Midnight Dawn is residing in Canterlot with Celestia and Luna. He's one of us now, so it's not another 'Plague Thing'. However, this stranger was reported to be, if the reports are correct, an Alicorn untied to the Royals. I've fought against Zebrican Praetorians, Ryborian Crimson Roses and against the Ardak Luvanius themselves. Their already increadable speeds are miniscule in comparison to the stranger. Nothing I've ever seen is this fast, he even outpaces my wife, and she's the fastest flyer in the world." "Also. It's good to see you again Lifepool. It seems you and me are basically the only veterans that are not KIA, MIA or defunct.
"Thanks, now where these newbies at. By the time they get here I'd be able to finish a container of the words hottest curry plus naans and still be back in action with my tongue, stomach and intestine functioning normally. Too bad they removed it from the mess hall. Seeing as I was the only one that could it it." he smiled under his mask as he trailed off topic. "Anyhoo, whoever this Alicorn is he's about to get a taste of some good old fashioned lifepool branded justice. Available on all good pony forums." He turned looking at the posters. Though to everyone else he was looking at nothing.
Guardian entered JSE headquarters without a problem, surprised by the complete lack of security. With Nightshade walking beside him, he headed down the hall, searching for the meeting room. It didn't take him long to find. The duo entered the room silently and looked around. They recognised both of the ponies in the room instantly; Lifepool from the many unflattering news stories written about him, and Archangel from personal experiences. Guardian greeted the two superheroes. "Hello. There was nopony at the front desk, so I let myself in. I'm Dark Guardian, and this is Deadly Nightshade. You approved our applications last week."
Roulette finally reached the building just as the iron power wore off and her eyes faded to solid white in color. She started floating and sighed, almost happily. "Finally. Something I can use." She flew up, passing through the ceiling, and traveled straight through the building to the meeting room. She poked her head out of one of the computer screens to see two heroes she knew of, and a lunar pegasi. She always had liked them, probably since the golems her parents used were modeled after the race. She floated out of the screen and landed on the ground. "Hello." She smiled.
Bright Darkness exited his dentention room in the JSE buildings, his reform finally completed. The nurses have told him yesterday that he would have to be ready for today; his new assignments, instead of developing chemical formulas, was now to use his new powers for good instead of evil. The way they thought would be the best, was to affect him in a team, or squad, of other ponies with unusual abilities like him. Anyways, the door sliding open brang him back from his thoughts. A nurse led him to the doctor's office, where the doctor gave him back his torn lab coat. He putted it on, and smiled to the doctor. He gave him a last chance to re-integrate society, wich will maybe one day let him back in his laboratory, with his own team of scientists. He was happy to be given such a chance again, after his last breakdown when he nearly killed three nurses. Anyway, the doctor left the room, and Saul Laski cam in. He explained to me how sorry he was, and that he'd give me a second chance. My old partner then told me how i'll have to act like him, and use this power to protect and serve, instead of destroy and disobey. After a few minutes, and a sappy hoofshake, he left, wishing me luck. But all the time, my mind wasn't focusing on what i was beeing said. He told me to kill, passing through the medic's effects. Today, the voice sounded rather angrier than normal. Maybe because i was given the right to escape the narrow walls of my ''home''? I'll never know. The nurses pulled me back from my reverie. They lead me out of the room, then downstairs, to a bunch of ponies. One of them sounded familiar to him, a Crimson one with a purple and yellow mane. Would it be... one of those that tried to stop him long ago? The nurse that leaded him just pointed to the pony he was watching. ''Go ahead, he's waiting for you.'' He approached him, and attracted his attention by poking him with his left front hoof. ''Pardon me, do i know you?''
"Oh ponyfeathers, I really should've gone home ealier last night," InfraSound muttered to himself as he soared towards the headquarters of the Justice Society of Equestria. He came to a screeching halt at the front doors. After taking a moment to catch his breath, InfraSound calmly walked through the doors in front of him. Before him was a rather modern and stylish entry room, with a receptionist at the front desk on the other end of the room. InfraSound strided up to her and asked, "Excuse me, ma'am. I'm with the Justice Society. Could you please point me in the direction of the meeting room?" "On the fourth floor, first door on your left." "Why thank you," He replied. As soon as he was in the stairway and made sure nopony else was around, he stretched out his wings and bolted straight up the stairway. When he reached the fourth floor, he burst through the door and charged into the meeting room. There he saw the legendary heroes, Archangel and Life pool, as well as a dark lunar pegasus. "Hey there, everypony. What'd I miss?"
"No no no no NO!" Vibrato said while running to the Justice League HQ. She stormed in to the building and stopped abruptly at the front desk, "Hey you know where the league is hangin out" Vibrato asked the receptionist. "Yes 4th floor, 1st door on th-". "Yea thanks Bye" She interrupted and ran up to the the first step, "Wait what am i doing there's an elevator, Duh". She made it to the 4th floor and entered the door on the left, "Sorry i'm la-" She stopped realizing she was in the bathroom, She closed the door and entered the room opposite, "Sorry i'm late, But you know what they say, Save the best for last." She said and sat down at the end of the table.
Guardian and Nightshade looked at each other in confusion. These superhero ponies all seemed to be a little bit crazy. "Well, okay then! Perhaps I should reconsider this..." He sighed. "...But, to leave now would prove the princess right. I'd never hear the end of it."
Roulette walked over to Guardian, feeling the most comfortable near him since she had spent her life around living statues of his species. "Some of these guys seem out of it don't they..." She was looking around. Her eyes faded to a pale blue color and the air around her seemed to get heavy with moisture.
Guardian laughed. "I've read Lifepool's file. He makes Discord look sane." He looked at the mare that had spoken to him. "You are Roulette, I presume? It is nice to see at least one sane pony in this group."
"Sane... Yes, most of the time. When these-" She points to her eyes "turn a very light green, you should run. It's the only power I have no name for..." She thinks for a second. "But I guess Discord is pretty fitting." She smiles at him.
"I may not be sane but I have way more experience than you. Let's see here: I've defeated Dark plague who has now been reformed; helped find Crimson here, who helped revive the princesses after they has been dead for ages. Finally I helped end a crime spree which had taken control of equestria. Now I see you have served Luna for a long time so where were you when she was assassinated." he said over the table. "Oh by the way, me and discord are chimichanga buddies. Which is where we chill and eat chimichangas."
Vibrato overheard Guardian and Roulette's conversation, She started thinking about for a moment. She leaned back in her chair to rest her hooves on the table,"You don't need to worry about me" She said looking at the lunar pegasi. "I'm about as sane as they come." She remarked and fell out of her chair, "My bad". Vibrato was blushing as she got back up in her chair.
"Woah!" InfraSound exclaimed, putting a hoof between the two. "We're on the same side here, right? Let's try to chill out and focus on the actual problem. Speaking of the actual problem, I still don't know what it is," Upon seeing that, InfraSound spies a dossier near Archangel that has a photo of a mysterious alicorn he'd never seen. "I'm guessing that's got all the info. Mind if I see it, Arch?"
