I'd like to put forward an Idea for a new site subsection, I think it's fair to say that the collective community of everypony houses a multitude of vast knowledge across many areas of...well, everything! So I propose that, at the bottom of the forum area we create a "Knowledge base", somewhere in which members can pose questions, receive assistance, and exchange the wealth of information we all keep. Under the knowledge base heading, we could divide it into some sub-categories, "Literature", "Art", "Music" and "Other"...which should be enough to divide the help sections evenly. Good day everypony, let the critique begin.
Fair idea. Are you suggesting some sort of database to be added as an extra section to the network or the forum? On the contrary, I can see this going the same route as the serious discussion forum idea.
Love this idea, think it should be given a chance. Seems like something the forum could really use, as a lot of the threads I see don't really fit into General Discussion.
I don't see this as a bad idea. I can see where it could fail, however. Hm... I'm neutral on this one. I'll watch and see what unfolds.
I think the current Music, Art and Literature forums are good enough for asking questions within them. What I'd like to see is is an addition of a Tech forum for posting various tech things, or for asking questions, sharing cool software people find, etc.
The thing about the current areas is that their description says "discussion"...leading people into the assumption that it's about existing material, the new section would (I hope) be much more lax to ask questions that might be considered "Silly". And test, I meant the forum not the network.
