This is a powerful story I just had to share that is time sensitive. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4MnpzG5Sqc In believing in love and tolerance, this project should be recognized by as many people as it can and I feel bronies especially should learn about this issue. The video is close to 30 mins long but I implore you to watch it and discuss your thoughts below. I'm posting this just before class so I can't explain it as well as I'd hoped but please take time to watch a movement for justice.
I read up on Wikipedia about this guy...This is absolutely horrible. Personally I don't think that this guy should even stand a trial. He should either be locked up for good or be put to death. I hope he is captured and I wish that there was something that I could do...The things he is doing...I'd rather not even think about it.
I shed tears. At 6:20 through to 7 minutes was inspirational, yet saddening. I'm spreading the word. Let this be heard.
Being interested in politics and all, I find this rather captivating. One, I care a great amount about democracy, and I believe that the world isn't given enough democracy. Two, human rights is incredibly important. The criminals listed by the ICC are nothing short of diabolical and a WHOLE lot worse than internet pirates. What was democracy made for, if not to voice the people of this Earth?
It's happened for decades and will still happen even if he is killed/captured (unlikely he will though). Anyway, didn't make me feel anything, being exposed to stuff of this nature often kinda desensitises you a bit(a lot).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Kony So this guy is a self-proclaimed christian prophet who fights to establish theocracy and supposedly for the ten commandments (even though he has broken most of them by his evil actions) Joseph Kony represents everything I hate, hypocritical fanatics who uses religion for their own gain, a person who claims to be moral while murdering thousands of children.
It's always frightening to be introduced to people like this. Why have him stand trial (unless it's trial in Africa)? It'd be simpler to assassinate him, though I'm sure they're already working on that. I know Africa would just execute him after they caught him.
He'd be tried by the UN. I think it's quite apparent Africa doesn't give a *squee!* what he does. The only "help", until now was from local Ugandan forces.
It's people like this guy that are the worst. It may sound harsh but he should just get killed. I think that once you cross a certain line, death should be the only penalty.
Nope, death would be an escape for him. Let him rot in prison for the rest of his life. That's how you make someone suffer.
Yeah. Death is too easy for people like this. Make him do something useful. It may be naive of me to say, but I feel that being imprisoned until he dies, and being made to help with various community service type things is the most useful solution. Of course, that's looking at it from an American point of view. I can't know how things operate in Uganda, so my suggestion is probably completely moot anyway. xP
I know what you meant. I was simply cracking a joke. Teehee! If he is captured I'm confident the UN will make the right decisions. TBH, I really don't care if he lives or dies, he wouldn't be harming anyone anymore and that's all that really matters in the end.
But but...i like sniping...
