Let's try to get this in the right section without offending anyone. *Inhales* *exhales*.

Ok, So I'm up north of Sacramento in a highly conservative and ignorant part of Northern California. I'm pretty shunned by my community (being a single parent is SO irresponsible, how dare my wife dies on me unexpectedly!) so, I've been surfing the web looking for a local Bronies Union (as it were) and it always leads me back to Davis (west of Sacramento) and the San Fransisco area. Now, while I personally have no problem commuting there, I have 2 ponies that I'm raising, alone. And with no means of support. Should my family (parents and grandparents who live within 5 miles of me) get wind of my Broniness (word?) I will most likely have threats against myself, my colt and my filly. Trying to find local Bronies but scared TO DEATH of being outed, ostracized, hated even more than I already am, and even all of my friends denounced the brony community, so I can't even go to them for help on this (some friends, right?). Suggestions, anypony? This stallion would greatly appreciate it!

If you are desperate to get out and meet some other bronies, couldn't you just scapegoat some other hobby or function to your folks? That's what I did when I went with my friends to San Diego to see Equestria Girls. Just told my folks there was an event.

Is Sacramento really like that? I was just up there about a month ago for Sac-Anime and it didn't seem to bad in the local area.

Sacramento is not like that, but where I live is. I'm about an hour and a half away, so it's a bit of a trip for me. Might be something worth looking into, though. Thanks for the tip!

Yeah man, I live in Santa Cruz and have been to a brony meet up in San Fran and see tons of other bronies at cons like Sac-Anime and Fanime in San Jose.

Now that is just disappointing...but I know how you feel. I lived/live in a very conservative area as well, it's disappointing how many people will avoid you simply because you like something they don't. However, I've found a lot of people who dislike the show who are perfectly willing to be my friends. They make fun of me sometimes, but these are people who are intelligent enough to know that something like this shouldn't make or break a friendship.

I hope you can find some people like that, whether they like the show or not! If you can't, then I will be greatly disappointed with my fellow conservatives. Sometimes (a lot of times) we can be pretty close minded. >.<
