I think it's more of a politic thing. JK supposedly hates Trans so Trans hate her. I don't really think she hate them, but she is sick of their messaging. The backlash against her probably isn't going to change that.
First - I do not agree with JK at all and I think her views on Trans people are wrong and simple minded. My take, hating the game is lazy action. It's easy. The amount she is getting in royalties from the game are tiny in comparison to what she makes from other outlets. Are these people boycotting all things WB? I don't see a giant crowd outside Universal Studios theme park picketing. Why not? Because that is hard, it takes effort. It's much easier to be lazy keyboard warriors. If you wanted real change, do something about an outlet that she actually makes profit on. The total she will make from all sales of this game for all time will most likely be less than what she makes from a week's worth of ticket sales at Universal Studios. JK doesn't care if you spoil the game, she doesn't care if you hate the game. You are just hurting people that want to play the game. Your focus is on the wrong thing.

As you wish Also, how far down the rabbit hole does it go? HBO has rights to the Harry Potter series and it's on their streaming service. I just watched the latest episode of The Last of Us on HBO. Does that support JK since HBO has Harry Potter rights? I bet you watched it you traitor.
I honestly share Curtis's sentiments on this. I have, in recent times, moved on from gaming. So this really holds no precedence for me anymore. People are going to be scummy. It's the way things have gone. We all make choices we will have to live with.
Looks that way doesn't it? We live in a world now where everything is offensive for some arbitrary reason or another. While there has always been a vocal minority in some shape or form. It's now a thing where that minority is amplified 1000-fold by all the social BS, Youtube, etc. Not that I exactly stopped gaming due to any reason that is related to this. It's due to personal/psychological reasons. I'll leave it at that.
What views does she actually hold that are so terrible? I hear a lot about what people claim she said, but when I read her own words it just seems like someone sick of being told what to think. I don't know, I mean I'm genderfluid myself, her views don't seem that hurtful. Pointless maybe, but I don't see how they're hurtful unless you think she has more influence than she actually has. Don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya. Why did we need to be tested? What do our opinions of JK have to do with you living your life? How do our opinions of her hurt you? I mean personally we've had talks about gender, what just because I don't feel JK is evil all the things we did agree on suddenly don't matter? Rose did something she knew would hurt others and then backpedaled and tried to shift blame when called out on it. We're all too old for this crap.
And that, right there, is why I decided not to get involved in the debate. My views on the topic run counter to most everyone else's here, and I had no desire to get chewed out by someone just because my perspective of things is different from theirs. Now then, can we get back to having fun at some point? This thread is a 'forum game', and I'm pretty sure games are meant to be entertaining.
