Okay! I had an old thread, but it is long, long dead and I think my art style has totally changed and improved since then. :3 Here's the old thread, in case anybody wants to look through it: http://www.everypony.com/forums/sho...Drawing-Poniez&p=224959&viewfull=1#post224959 So um, yeah! This is the new thread where I will dump all of my crappy sketches and stuff. And my not-crappy sketches too, let's not discriminate. So the first sketch I'm going to post is Twilight, because she is best pony, of course. Here she is trotting and giving you a big smile: Spoiler: Twilight Sketch 1 It's not amazing, it's the first round of stuff, after all xD But here it is! Now for the second sketch: Twilight is a pretty princess, and she needs to stay that way, so she is making sure her wings are nice! Here it is, first without cleaning, and then with cleaning (I'm a messy artist sometimes): Spoiler: Twilight Sketch 2 There will be more sketches coming along, hopefully people are slightly interested and stuffs. :3 I'll probably keep drawing either way though.
Hmm the legs need a little work but otherwise its very good!!! when i draw ponies i draw their back legs as circles and then a long rectangle attatched behind. lol. just a tip though.
Haha, yeah I've never been great at legs. Before this I just never drew them, I only drew portraits of ponies. Buuut I'm getting better xD
yeah. legs are a ***** to draw. but once you draw them you can draw the entire pony in various poses and then boom. anyway you want it. you'll become the pony master!!!! I WANNA BE THE VERY BEST LIKE NO ONE EVER WAS TO DRAW THEM IS MY REAL TEST TO LEARN IT IS MY CAUSE MLP!!! GOTTA DRAW IT ALL!!!
Really cute. Great progress. On the first one her back right leg should start near the other back leg, not just come out near the front ones. Still, they are very cool ^_^
Hey, I scribbled over one of your pictures in case you might find it useful! Find it in the spoiler! Keep up the good work, though! Spoiler: Corrections? Ok, so here's my attempt at your image. I chose Rarity as my model because Rarity > Twilight, in my opinion, though. I know that my own anatomy won't be perfect (ie there will be things about my own image which need correcting) but, I hope that this is at least a little helpful to you. When I redrew the image, I chose to use the hind leg closest to the viewer as my main leg, since it was the one which suited the full body of motion the best in my opinion. Anyway, something which I found useful when learning how to position my legs and stuff was looking at animation videos. I found this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ht2-Xt5-ufw very useful when it actually came to understanding things like basic leg placement. (The dude also has a video for flying and ziplines, which are both pretty stellar!) Hope this helps! Secondly, I can't see the image in post #11.
That actually might help, all those flash assets and stuff are really what I need. However on that image I was actually copying the vector model. xD So it wasn't my idea to make her front leg like dat. See: [Image not found, for heaven's sake just trust me I couldn't find the picture though] Also I fixed the image in my other post, I was rushing when I put it up and forgot to not change some settings and crap Uhm, well I dunno. xD It depends I guess, but not on this site, it'd be on DeviantArt. - - Auto Merge - - Here are some more OCs I did: Spoiler: Mist Blitz Spoiler: Rune
Yeah it kinda does, but that's just cause I drew him without the rifle and 18th century british military clothing.
Yes, but... can you Cherrystripe? In all seriousness, it's a good start. I have a number of anatomy tutorials for ponies stashed away if you want some.
One comment on this guy: I think his back should dip down more and stay down for longer. It's possible also that the line should go out a little when it goes from his neck to his chest. Otherwise it's pretty nice. - - Auto Merge - - They still look cool as said too, but I can point out a few specifics again if it helps. (Not that I can do better, but i just noticed a few things). On the first: the waving arm looks a bit jelly-like. It's a little odd how it is curving. The upper hip part of the back leg is a bit too narrow, and the belly is really wide (since you have not other line it looks like it goes down past the bottom of her hip). For the second: the close front and the far back legs are skinnier than the others, and kind of look too skinny. The top of the far front leg looks a little long. The neck is very long and the way it curves on the top-back part is a bit odd since there is no curve on the front. Those are both very nice looking as a whole, it's just if you inspect them you notice some things. I hope that helps moving forward! (I can't do anatomy myself.. I know how tricky it is)
Eight Senpai noticed meeee Maybe, but I don't know much time I'll have to do anything after this week so yeah... xD Yeah they aren't perfect, they're much better than my old ones though, which is pretty impressive if you consider I didn't practice at all between old and new lol
