Star Storm had fallen asleep in the forbidden section of the library. She was doing inventory last night when she blacked out from exhaustion. This was a common occurrence. She had an unhealthy need to finish her work, no matter how much time is took, which resulted in many pay raises, but it wasn't good for the body. One time she refused the doctor's orders to take a vacation, because, "The Ancient Magics Shelf has to be alphabetized!" The sun shined through the window, and it's warmth woke her up. She opened her eyes ever so slightly, and got up. "Uhhh... How long was I out? Six AM? I guess I'm early for work..." She finished restocking the books, and went to the employee lounge, and poured a cup of coffee. The bitterness woke her up immediately. She had about 3 hours before work actually started, so she pulled a Daring Do book out of her saddle bag, and started reading.
Star heard the knock. She trotted quickly up to the front door, and opened it. "Oh! An Alicorn! Royal Buisness, I presume?" She asked with a smile.
(Levi) My mom [Celestia] just wanted me to pick up a few cookbooks for her. She's trying out cooking again.
"Can do! Come on in, I'll show you to the culinary section." She gestered him to come in with her hoof, and begain walking up a flight of stairs. The library's scale was ginormous, and filled four floors. She pulled over a ladder, climbed up it, and pulled several books of the shelf, including titles such as, The Basics: Cooking, Culinary Techniques, and some book with a nonsense title written by a party crazed Earth Pony. Although she was an unicorn, it was strange she didn't use magic. Right then, as she was about climb down, when the ladder slipped, and she fell. The books she was holding tumbled down, and almost hit the Alicorn. Thankfully, she was unharmed, however, she did not notice a crack in the Magic Suppressing Amulet she was wearing. "Oh gosh, I'm so sorry! Let me get those for you!" She gathered all the cook books back up, and handed them to the Alicorn. "Do you have an library card?" She asked, dusting herself off.
(Levi) I brought my mom's "Royal International Library Pass". I know, the name is incredibly convoluted, but my Aunt Luna thought it was better for it to have a big name...I'll never understand her thought process.... - - Auto Merge - - (Levi) By the way, what's with the amulet?
Star checked it out. "It's good Mr.... Leviathan? May I call you that? Well, anyway tell Celestia I said hello!" She said. Then Levi asked the question about the amulet. Star had flashes of terrible memories from childhood. Her cheery tony of voice suddenly changed to a disturbed, frail one. "I... I'd rather not go too in depth... But I'll say I have some u-uncontrollable magic inside me that can't be c-c-contained... So I wear this amulet to supress it."
(levi) Please, call me Levi. I can apply a spell to you which makes it much easier for you to control your magic, so you can stop using that amulet to hurt yourself by straining your magic.
"That's v-v-very kind of you, b-but I don't think you understand the kind of magic I have... It changes me, It changes others. Even Celestia herself couldn't help me with this, so she just slapped this amulet on me and told me to live with it!" Her anger spiked, before she suddenly calmed down, embarrassed, and looked at the watch she didn't have, and looked back at him. "I have some papers I have to sort. I'll see you around. Bye." Sorting papers was clearly an excuse to escape the situation. She ran to her office, and crashed on a beanbag chair she had. "Just relax... Don't panic, or the magic will take hold of you..." She took a deep breath in, and exhaled heavily three times. Her time being in Changeling captivity not only gave her their abilities, but caused her emotions to spiral wildly out of control sometimes.
(Levi) That's not true.... *horn glows a crimson aura* I can sense your magic energy...It's violent, trying to release itself from your horn, but only building up because you restrain it with that amulet. So much has built up, that it's beginning to cause you pain. I know how that feels...For the longest time, after discovering that I was a lightning elemental, I was afraid to use magic and risk hurting those around me. I found a way to channel my electric magic and standard magic separately, and now I want to help you contain your magic, and not be afraid, like I was...
Star opened the door to her office to speak to Levi. "Believe me, I'd love to control this magic, but I'm not an Alicorn or Lightning Elemental. For now I just need to observe it, see how it reacts to different things. When I decide I'm ready, I'll come up to the castle and talk to you. Sorry about snapping like that earlier, by the way. The names Star Storm, Archivist of the Royal Canterlot Library."
(Levi) It's fine, Star...I sometimes lose control of my emotions, too. Well, I should get going. My mom pigs out on her emergency supply of cake when she's waiting too long. See you later, Star.
"Alright, see you." Star said, as she closed her door. The perks of being an archivist: She had her own office, and can stay locked up in it as long as she wanted. She only had to go through important royal documents signed by a Princess, and there weren't many of those. She got out her Daring Do book, and continued reading from where she left off. (Short Time Skip? Maybe the next day.)
(Sure, and Sure.) Celestia levitated the books with her magic, and read them aloud. "Cookie Cake! I haven't had one of those in a while!" She beckoned to Levi. "Levi, do you like cookie cake?"
"I'll take that as a yes." Celestia said, with a little chuckle. She cracked two eggs, and poured some mix over it. After about an hour of pouring an mix ingredients, she finally put it in the oven to bake. "The cake will be ready in about an half-hour, Levi!" -Meanwhile, at the library.- Star wasn't busy, so she read up on some books she borrowed from the Alternative Magics and Dangerous Creatures Sections. She had no luck learning how to control her magic. Star reached over for a glass of water, and took a large gulp. She felt warm to the touch, almost feverish. "Ugh, maybe I should take the rest of the day off... I have vacation days I never used. I'll go talk to my supervisor and I'll be off." Her supervisor, The Grand Archivist, Book Wyrm, agreed to let her go. Another perk of being an Archivist was close proximity to the library, as a nice, posh apartment within walking distance of the castle and library was provided. Star arrived to 534 Loyalty Terrace, and inserted the key to her apartment. She took some fever medicine, and collapsed on her bed. "I think I'll take a nap..." Was the last thing she said before drifting off, and letting her mind wander.
-Meanwhile, Luna enters the royal kitchen and finds Celestia and Levi, with Celestia wearing an apron, and having her hair tied in a ponytail- (Luna) *cracks a bit of a smile* Sister...Thou look absolutely hilarious! *begins ROFLing*
"Oh shut it, you." Celestia said, as she took the cake out of the oven. It was a little misshapen, but no burns or anything out of the ordinary. She cut some slices with her magic, and levitated the slices onto plates, and passed them out to the two. She took a tiny bite to test it. "Absolutely delicious! You HAVE to taste it!" As Star's Mind Wandered, she daydreamed. She was in a dark room, with seemingly nothing in it. Suddenly, she saw two large, green eyes, and she fell unconscious (In the dream.) She woke up, panting and in a cold sweat. She looked at the amulet, and noticed small, dark purple tendrils leaking out of a crack, and her horn was sparking occasionally. She took a second look at them, so make sure she wasn't seeing anything. They were still there. She panicked, and started galloping out of her apartment, headed full speed for the castle. The guards stopped her at the gate. She quickly flashed her badge, and they let her in. She ran to the throne room doors, and rang the bell signifying that someone had to speak with Celestia. "Come on, Please be here!"
