Billy Mark and his wife, Moonlight Sunlight, looked into the crib of their new baby foal, both smiling softly. But as happy as they were for their new child, who lay asleep in her crib, they had to look forward into the future and how this baby filly would one day be the owner of the family company, Mark Co, a company that is currently growing faster and faster, and to be the future bearer of that responsibility meant that they would have to raise her surrounded by business and it's workings, just like what happened with Billy. "You think that Canterlot is a good place for raising her?" Moonlight asked Billy. "It may not be the best, but it will do. Best place we can get to raise her in considering the future. We ain't like that 'Filthy Rich' fellow down in Ponyville." Moonlight sighed and the couple returned their attention to their filly.
The room was quiet. The foal was sleeping in the nurses arms. They were in the morgue, and the nurse was looking at a dead mare. The mare was beautiful, even in death. Her cream fur was soft and silky, and her light blue eyes were closed. Her black mane was tossed around her face, and even though she died an hour ago, her cheeks were flushed. "What a waste.." thought the nurse, shaking her head. She looked down at the white foal pegasus in her arms and stroked back her brown hair lovingly. "Your mama loved you.. You know that?" she murmured. Sighing, she put the baby back in it's assigned crib marked Eluuna, and walked away.
Robin hoofs father Midnight Saxon also known as the earl of Foxley walked into the sleeping foals room. Robins mother was already there. "Dear, ive been thinking when I die this little fella will take my place and that is why I hink you should stop protecting im from the outside world. Let me take him out of the mansion and to the market let him see what he would be the earl of". Silverheart looked up at midnight. "Okay, but promise me that you will keep him away from the thieves and the beggars. we want him to be a strong stallion". Midnight spoke again this time he had more power in his voice. "thanks for letting me take him out but I shall show him everything. I want a kind, thoughtful and forgiving son. not a Tyrant who only cares about the rich and disregards the less fortunate like his God-father te sheriff of Trotingham". with that said both left the room allowing Robin to slep peacefully.
In Manehatten, in a non-particular orphanage, a new arrival had been dropped at their doorstep, a little colt no less. The blue-coated filly had been found in quite the stereotypical scene of being in a basket with a note and nopony in sight to claim the young one. All that the note said was that his name was Winter Warmth, and that he was a merely a newborn. The usually rowdy orphanage had quieted somewhat as everypony tried to get a look. It was their first 'mystery foal' a name given to those that arrive at an orphanage while still just a newborn with no rhyme, reason, or explanation.
Cloud Kicker sat peacefully in his crib, kicking sometimes. His mother picked up the baby and held it lovingly. The father came in and smiled. He hugged his wife and his baby. They were radiating pure joy. Eluuna. Eluuna sat in the playroom of the orphanage, a solitary tear slipping down her face. A older filly had taken her doll, despite her protests. Life was unfair.
Ash and Hunter looked down at their two peacefully sleeping foals. They both dawned Ash's green coat and red mane and tail, which made Ash, their father, very happy. "Man... There's so much to think about now, you know, for their future..." Hunter said softly. "Yeah..." Ash replied just as softly. The foals were being born into a family of adventures and dare devils. Whatever they would end up doing with their lives, it would be exciting.
Orangebolt was sleeping in his crib. His mom, Topaz Wave was smiling at him, slowly rocking the crib back and forth. His dad, Lightning Wing was smiling at him, imagining what kind of stallion he would be when he would grow up. Being an instructor at the Cloudsdale Flight Academy, he wanted his son to grow up and be a fine flyer. "Isn't he precious?" Topaz asked. "Indeed he is honey." Replied Lightning.
(Shifting into schooling stage.... Now!) It was the first day of school in Ponyville. Ember was happy as can be, ready to face a new part of life. Firebreeze on the other hand wanted nothing to do with school. He wanted to stay home and continue his flying lessons with his dad. They were both rushed out the door, lunch, pencils, and paper in their saddlebags. "This sucks!" Fire exclaimed. "Why?" Ember questioned, "This is gonna be great! We get to meet new ponies and make friends!" "I just wanna finally learn to fly..." "But dad said that most pegasi still can't fly at our age. It's not like you'll look dumb or anything." Firebreeze simply sighed and continued on.
Snow sat attentively as her father paced in front of her, "Do ya know what your gonna learn?" Billy asked "How to run a business!" Snow replied without missing a beat. "Very good! Now, time to get to work!" Winter sat heavily down into a chair in the back of the orphanage school, he was never good at talking or making friends, so why waste the effort. He dutifully prepared his given supplies and prepared to learn whatever they were to be taught.
Eluuna stared ahead in class, the other school ponies giggling. Her eyes stared somberly down, and she twiddled her hooves. It was sad here for her.
"Okay mum, I'll study my hardest". Robin hoof said to mum before he left with dad to go to Equestria's boarding school for the privileged ponies in Trottingham's outskirts. The carriage ride took about half an hour but when they arrived and before robin hoof was taken inside to his class, his father lent down to remind his son something " son, now remember to write to us regularly and make friends. Also don't let the extremely posh ponies tell you that only the rich are worth something and that they shouldnt care about the poor. Show them that everyone deserves kindness and that the rich should care". His father smiled before getting backin the carriage and Robin was taken to his dorm where he would be sharing with two others Mill Scarlet and Little sun.
Orangebolt was excited for his first day of school. He didn't know what to expect, but at the same time he was excitied to meet new friends and socialize. He walked into the class room, and took out some pencils, paper, scissors, crayons and some tape. He was ready to learn. He looked next to him, and saw a sad looking, white pony. "Are you ok? What's wrong?" He asked, wanting to see if he could cheer her up.
Eluuna looked up, and Orangebolt was struck by the old sorrow in her eyes. "Oh. Hello. I'm fine. Thank you though." she smiled, and stretched her wings.
Ember and Firebreeze trotted into class, then sat next to each other to talk about what they planned to do later, which involved gathering a bunch of supplies and exploring the Everfree.
Winter had been interested by the fact that instead of learning at the orphanage, they would be going to a public school to learn. The more he thought about it, the more it sounded like a way to get rid of them for part of the day. Winter looked around the class he had been lead into, which was mostly filled with little fillies and colts messing around, but he saw a pair that wasn't and saw in the filly's face a sadness that he instantly recognized. She was an orphan, much like him, probably had been all her life. But he ignored the urge to go talk to her and slid into a desk on the back row, quiet as ever.
Eluuna folded her wings back, and coughed. She pulled out a few twigs and a few leaves from her bag. She played around with them, and eventually made a small fort.
The lessons were pretty much the same as any normal class but they were more interested in high grades than fun. Robin hoof managed to get quite a few B's and C's in all his subjects but his teacher wanted more. She wanted all the students to be getting A's and A*'s ((going off the British grade system)) which was pretty much impossible seeing asit was everyponys first school year.
Orange's teacher passed out a little worksheet with basic knowledge just to see how much the students knew. Orangebolt picked up his pencil and started filling it out. "Aw man, we're barely 15 minutes into the day, and we already have a test?" He thought.
