The community posts are fine at the moment, but they seem very factual.
I'd love to see really lengthy pieces that are more akin to reading a magazine or newspaper (only more, ugh, interesting).
We just get a bullet point summary with some fluff at the moment.

Of course I understand it's all about time constraints and having stuff to talk about, but you know, I thought I'd throw the idea out there, or maybe just make a separate set of announcement posts altogether?
It doesn't always have to be serious either, perhaps you could make a joke or twenty two every now and then?

    Just a thought!

Oh come on, we do at least attempt a few good jokes when we have them! Although, my skill with that can be rather lame...

However, length on the posts isn't a bad idea if we can find the stuff. I guess I can turn it up more for a week and see whether it gels nicely. Furthermore, Posts where I tried to post as a character or with a running theme worked all right.

I'll hand it to you Tyro, your character posts are pretty amusing.
One idea would be to perhaps get users to submit something to be included the posts? Interviews or something maybe?
Save the staff extra time and effort diversion.
I guess experimentation is the way forward ;D

If you want to extend the posts, may I suggest expanding the recommended reading section?
You could include interesting content from not just EP, but news of the fandom as a whole.
Expanding on that, you could also post pony videos and songs.

Additionally, you could also add some kind of fun weekly poll to the CP.

I think it's because of repetition. Doing the same thing every week for a year would cause anything to grow a little stale and predictable (no offense). Vulpine did a great number of community posts back in the day, and somehow they were always fun to read. Ask him for his secret. :derpe:

All i can still say is, Instead of just mentioning what's going on or what's new, talk about it a little.

    For example

Instead of "check out this post for more info", try including the info in the CP in a fresh and fun-to-read paragraph. Tell people what they can (and can't) do with this new part of the site, or if the staff is planning more for this room instead of just letting it be there. You got a new thing going on here that has the potential to become incredibly popular. Don't let it go to waste.

I would think the point of a Community Post is to encourage people to check out different parts of the site for things they might usually miss. I, for example, don't see blogs much because they don't appear under "what's new" the same way threads do. I will agree with Rarit that some more information could be given about the plug.dj room. I saw "Check out this post for more info" and was surprised to be linked to the thread where I suggested the room rather than to some new thread or post wherever explaining what was actually going to be happening with the plug.dj room.

There is a difference between adding fluff and adding actual content to a post... just keep that in mind.

What Xalder and Rarit have suggested is a good place to start. You could also go more into the Collaborations or Media section and just find interesting things to talk about rather than just stuff that gets posted by random users on the site; while it's a good gesture, I think you guys should find stuff on your own too without being pointed in specific directions.

For example, you could give a more detailed description of how awesome my new channel is.
