Except when your creatures die. Then you're doomed.

Side note: Pwn? Really? Noobs? Really? It's 2013, not 200-who even cares.

I have a 146 card deck that works for whatever reason. I also have a mill deck and a few others. Also I don't really buy or trade cards I use what I have and I just play with friends for the sake of having fun.

Dimir has to be my favorite especially for EDH "oh... you just searched your deck for 20 lands? well how about every one except me mill until you hit 15 lands." Its pretty awesome.

yea, but at as you throw your lands at people you are helping dimir out by milling yourself 3 cards each turn and pulling your own lands out of your deck. plus if it comes down to it I can still get big creatures that can wipe people out. Just last night when I was playing with friends I saced a 184/184 creature to Jarad and killed the table.

I haven't played since the 2011 release. Have quite a few decks still though- White deck with knights that becomes indestructible, a normal red burn deck, a green deck with worms and a hydra, and probably my favorite is a sliver deck.

I just got into it and bought my first 15 card booster pack today. It's from the gatecrasher series aka the newest one. This will actually be my first set of cards and because I didn't have enough money I only have the 15 cards. So anyway here's a list of what I got:
    Warmind Infantry
    Scatter Arc
    Mortus Strider
    Shambleshark
    Midnight Recovery
    Foundry Street Denizen
    Zarichi Tiger
    Borosilicate Guildgate
    Skygames
    Corpse Blockade
    Agoraphobia
    Debtor's Pulpit
    Wight of Precinct Six
    Biovisionary
    Swamp

^ If you actually want to play the game you should start off with buying a custom deck.

It's very expensive to build a decent deck out of booster packs.

Could also buy a "fat pack" from either the 2013 block or Gatecrasher, they're usually around $40 to $50 depending on if you buy them from Amazon (UK Amazon) or a card shop.
Alternatively if a fat pack seems a bit too expensive, you can also buy one of the preconstructed decks.

Ah yes, those starter packs are also a good way to start experimenting with deck-building.

if you are really interested in getting into magic friday night magic or pre-releases may be something to look into. They cost $20-30 in my area and you get enough cards for a 40 card deck with extras. Also it gives you a chance to meet some of the people in your area that play. this coming up friday is the dragon's maze pre-release event.

I love Magic. My favorite and best deck is my Blue-Black Artifact deck, but I've also rocked some Black-Red Eldrazi, Green Elves, Black Vampires and Red Burn decks from time to time.

My brother plays White-Green Aura/Levelers, White Angels, Red-Black Vampires and Green Mana Ramp decks.

I haven't purchased too many of the more recent sets. I think the last set I bought cards from was the 2012 Core Set. I'm a tad behind the curve, I suppose.
