As a few of you probably already know, the new Metal Gear installment has been out for about a week now. As a fan for Metal Gear from the very beginning I had to get this. Now first off Metal Gear Rising has an entirely different play style than the traditional Metal Gear Solid. Instead of sneaking around and snapping peoples necks, you go around slicing people up into hundreds of pieces with the option of doing sneak attacks. The first thing I would like to point out is my favorite area of the game personally... The soundtrack in my opinion is wonderful and very fitting. I'll leave a link to one of the songs for you all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3HvRu8gfaX0 Next is to the actual game play. Now I've always love sword fighting games, so I naturally like Metal Gear Rising even when I first played the demo of it. The game play in itself is meant to make you feel like a complete badplot. Any stealth assassination you preform usually involve you picking the guy up by his neck and stabbing him in the heart or by you jumping off a ledge and landing on him with your sword. They have two modes you can freely perform throughout the game, Ninja Mode and Blade Mode. Ninja Mode involves you jumping on stuff sideways and running faster than normal, it also allows you to preform awesome acrobatics. Blade Mode is a combat based mode, in which everything around you will slow down and you blade will be able to cut through almost anything... with this mode you will be able to cut people into literally bite size bits. But just like every Kojima made game that's ever existed, it can be the hardest game you will ever play in your life. As i'm typing this down i'm playing on Revengeance mode (the hardest mode) and i'm stuck on the 3rd boss getting my plot kicked like as if I was playing the game blind. Another draw back is the length of the game... which is unfortunately short. The next thing is the story of the game, which in my opinion could have been worked on a bit more, but hey, the game wasn't really meant to have a story... It was meant for you to feel awesome. The last and (in my opinion) the least important thing is graphics, which I won't lie, Iv'e seen better, but it's surely decent at the least. I definitely recommend this game to any Ninja Gaiden, Metal Gear, or any action/adventure gamers.
