I had just moved into town and had finished unpacking my things, so i decided to go down to the local cafe and have lunch. Sitting at an outside table, I sip on nice hot white chocolate, watching all the new people go by.
Just like every day, I walked slowly, yawning my way to the place that makes the best hot drinks around. As I open the door, the bell above it rings and the friendly barista gives a little wave to one of his daily customers. I order a latte with a tired smile, go sit out in the bright sun and then proceed to read my current book.
As I look around the streets of the town, I hear the bell of the shop ring and I look over to the door. I notice a rather cute guy with long hair walking in. Blushing a bit, I try to hide behind my mug as I kind of eye him up and down as he sits down with his latte.
Fully invested in my book, I take a few sips of the drink, still a bit too hot. When it came to turning the page, I glanced up and looked around quickly, previously oblivious to my surroundings, and caught the eye of the lass sitting on one of the tables on the other side of the cafe entrance. Blushing a litle, I give a gentle smile and return to my book, with the feeling that she's looking at me occasionally.
I see you smile at me and my blush deepens. I was nearly finished with my hot white chocolate, then the waitress comes out with my lunch. I smile and thank her, she giggles as she notices my blush. "Oh you like him? He's one of our daily customers. Quite cute, why don't you go say hi to him?" she asks me. I shake my head. "I...I can't I...I'm t..too s...shy" She smiles and nudges me "aaw come on, he's really sweet"
Unable to hear the conversation, but interested in what the waitress and a girl who he had no seen here before were saying, I glance over casually before they both look directly at me and smiling, I wave to them both. "Hiya!" The waitress waves back as she goes back inside, but not before giving the new girl a little wink.
I blush a bit deeper and smile and wave back to you. I pick up my plate and mug, and walk over to your table. "M...mind if I sit here?" I ask shyly. my long red hair flowing behind me in the wind. Secretly I was hoping you would say yes, but at the same time was was a bit too shy.
I hold my book up, looking like I'm reading but looking at the new girl as she gets up and walks over. I look up and smile as you ask the question. "By all means, take a seat!" I answer, nodding casually. I put my bookmark in and close the book, and almost finish the latte. "I'm Xaniith, by the way. What's your name?"
I smile as I sit down "thanks, i'm Scarlet, but well...some call me Metal Fyre" I blush a little, "well that's what most people know me by, stage name and all that..." I sip on my hot white chocolate and munch on some of my chips. "I just moved here, finished college and looking to start a new life" I smile again, noticing that up front you are even cuter than before.
I nod slowly "It's a pleasure to meet you, Scarlet. Is there a name you'd prefer to be called? Oh, stage name?" I gently stroke my chin as I listen to the pretty girl talk. "Oh, wow, neat! Is there anything(s) in particular you're wanting from the new life here? I'm personally still in college, but nearing the end. What did you study?". I finish my now lukewarm drink with a little happy sigh, having loved it.
I smile "I was studying music, performing mostly." I smile "and as for what I want. Well, to start a band. but to also get away from the city..." I sigh, as I finish my drink and start to nibble on my meal. my blush still deepens.
I look in in interest "Wow, that's neat! I've always loved music. What sort of music do you plan on playing with this band?" I tilt my head a little, questioningly. "Did something happen in the city? If you don't mind me asking, of course." I stammer as I notice your reddening face "A-are you alright?"
I smile at your first question "Well a bit of a mixture really, mostly rock, metal, punk and ska" I say, nibbling on my burger a bit more. When it came to your second question, I sigh a little and look down "prejudice, judgmental people and worst of all...a broken heart" I say, as tears start forming in my eyes and trickling down my cheeks.
My eyes light up "Ooh! My favourites! I look forward to seeing it all". My smile and eyes go down quickly though as the conversation went on. "Aww, there there." I offer some tissues I got from my satchel that I always have. "I do apologize that you had to go through such horrible things. I'm sure it'll be a lot better here!" I say reassuringly, with a gentle smile. "I'm sorry for bringing the topic up".
I take the tissues gladly and wipe my tears away, I look up, a small smile on my face. "It's ok" i say shyly "you didn't know, the bum will get what he deserves. The chick he cheated on me with, she is as bad he is" I smile and continue to eat. "And yeah, they are my favorite genres too." I then notice you had finished your drink, "What did you have? I can get you another one?"
I smile back, glad to see you not too distraught. "Oh my, he does seem like quite the bad one...But the past is the past, and looking forward is what's best." I find myself staring at you as you eat but snap back when you ask, embarrassed. "Oh no, no, no. I had a latte, but there's no need for that, I can get another myself, but the offer is most appreciated!" The waitress comes out and gathers the finished plates and mugs. "Well, well. Someone's found a friend, have they?" She asks you, grinning.
I blush "i...I.." I nod shyly "mhm" not knowing what quite to say, i absent mindedly hold your paws in mine, my tail wagging happily. "T..thank you" I stutter, "um c...could i please have another hot white chocolate?" i ask the waitress
Rather taken aback, I jump a little as my paws are held but warm to it and smile sweetly at you. "Oh, hello there. And I'd like another latte, both of which are on me" I say as I have a little grin on my face. "Hot white chocolate and latte coming up!" She says as she whisks away with the used dishes.
I then notice our paws touching and I blush, quickly taking my paws away, blushing furiosly "I...I'm s..sorry" I say as I hide behind my hair. But then you offer to pay for the hot white chocolate "T..thank you" i say as I peek out from behind my hair, "N..no one has ever been k..kind to me b...before"
I giggle lightly, albeit a bit nervously. "Oh no worries, it's okay, no harm done and there's no need to hide, everything's okay" I say as I gently part your red hair to show your bright red face again. As you begin to thank me, I nod and hold up my paw meaning 'stop' "It's a pleasure, and you deserve it!"
