Now it is the week before the longest day of the thousandth year, when it is prophesied that the Dread Witch Nightmare Moon would return to claim the world for herself. Ambiance, the crown Princess of Equestria, has sent out a call, against her father Solaris' wishes, for anyone brave enough to help her gather the Elements of Concordia from the various kingdoms and tribes from all over Equestria: The Diamond Dogs, led by Rexxar Fire-Eye, The Zebras, led by Zulu the Wise, The Minotaurs, led by Chief Grim Jaw, The Griffons, led by Dalamar Steeltalon, and, last but not least, the Dragons, who are led by Irontongue. Of course this task wouldn't be so hard if it wasn't for the agents of Nightmare Moon, who are fanatically devoted to her ideals and worship her like a goddess. Even now, her agents are sowing discord and disharmony among the different kingdoms to prevent the Elements for reuniting, knowing that soon their mistress will return. This RP will be limited freeform and will not use the EPRP rules. It takes place in an alternate universe that does not share any canon with MLP:FIM, so feel free to make up your own (within reason of course). The standard RP rules would apply: Don't be a jerk, no OP, etc, etc. Who wants to play? I eagerly await all of your questions and comments.
Question before you make the sign ups. Since its an alternate equestria, does that mean alternate versions of cannon characters exist? Like... The apple family got rich off their apple business, and Applejack is a harsh buisnesswoman instead of the real her. Or... Derpy was spared the accident that cause her issues, and is now the best post-pony in the land? Etc. just a bit curious to it.
The best answer I have for you is..."sort of." In my version of Alternate Equestria, the characters in MLP:FIM don't exist, but there are characters who look exactly like them, or share their personality traits. For instance, Silent Night, a treasure Hunter in Ambiance's service, is the exact likeness of Fluttershy, minus the Cutie Mark. Sing Song, a bard, looks like Rarity, but has Pinkie Pie's personality. (In actuality, Alternate Equestria was part of a fanfic that I had planned, and the fact that there were characters who looked alike was a plot point.) Spoiler: Another plot point In my fic, Discord was exactly the same, except he was a "good guy". Some of the locations are in the same places, but have different names, like the Everfree Forest becoming the Everfear Forest, and Cloudsdale becoming "Upper Equestria". There's a town called Ponyville, but it's of no strategic value to any of the kingdoms. I guess the best wasy I can describe the world of Alternate Equestria is if you took a puzzle, threw all of the pieces on the floor, and hammered them together where they landed. Or, better yet, if you had MLP figurienes, gave them different names and made up your own stories about them. (You know, like Lauren Faust did.) I hope that helped.
