Well, that wasn't a bad little story. Simple and a little predictable, yes but it still made for a nice episode. Kinda ready for a break from ol' Vern though since she's had 3 weeks in the spotlight. Anyhoo, ON TO THE TIDBITS!!! Charlie Brown pony, Jack Kelly pony (Newsies), and of course, "I'm walking (trotting) here!"

    Overall, 7/10

Also, races are not won by jumping the start. All I'm gonna say about that though.

Did anyone else notice that Spike was reading an Archie comic?

Was he it just looked like a generic comic. I didn't recognize it as Archie.

The yellow pony has Archie's haircut and color, and the blue pony has Jughead's hat.

This one was another good one.

I really liked the theme of this episode. Which seemed to me to be "doing something doesn't have to be extravagant, even the littlest things you can do go a long way"

I also liked seeing Coco Pommel again. I really like her character.

Overall it was a decent episode.

Additional note: Are the Rarity episodes over now? It's not that I don't like Rarity, it's just she's had three episodes in a row now. We need to see other characters.

I enjoyed it. I also think it's cool that Rarity got the spotlight for a bit. I'm a fan of her episodes and know that in some seasons she didn't get enough attention. I'm looking forward to (SPOILER, see episode titles if interested) next week!

Personally, my problem with the episode was shared by the other map episodes, and to my dismay it's looking like it will be a common theme among future examples as well. The ponies have no idea what they're doing (and neither do we), they try something and fail at it, and then in the end they find out that they already solved the problem without realizing it, expositing what it was and what they accomplished. I dunno about you guys, but I don't think it's a fun viewer experience watching them blindly speculate about what the heck they're doing for pretty much the whole episode and not even get the opportunity to face the problem head on, and it's kind of a let down when they finally realize the problem but there's nothing left to do. The lessons are great, I like them a lot! There's just never a point where they know what they're doing and have to confront the problem, there's no story climax, and it's all just a slow and confused slog straight to the denouement. It doesn't make much sense to have a whole episode about it, and to me it kinda feels like a ripoff. I think they would work a lot better as a five page comic, 22 minutes is just way too long. I've been griping about episodes since season 3, but this is the very first time I've taken issue with an episode's narrative structure.
