@Crimson Lionheart Here we go. ---- Circuit Breaker woke up, his head reeling from whatever had happened to him last night. He looked around, and found that he was in an alley in downtown Canterlot. Well, this is strange... Circuit thought. He pulled out his cell phone, and to his surprise, there was no signal. He put it back in his pocket, when he noticed there was a newspaper on the ground in front of him. He picked it up. To his absolute astonishment, the date read "January 31, 1986." He examined the newspaper further. It didn't seem to show any signs of age. His only conclusion was that he, somehow, had been sent back in time. The last thing he remembered was being in Twilight Sparkle's lab with Crimson Lionheart, Sunset Shimmer, Rarity, Fluttershy, Applejack, Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, and Pinkie Pie. I need to find the others, Circuit thought, if, indeed, they are even here...
Crimson woke up just a few miles outside of town, in the middle of the park. The trees fortunately blocked his view of the sunlight that would have beamed down on his face, but it was enough to wake him up. He grudgingly sat up and looked about, finding that he fell asleep on a park bench His clothes looked like they were out of time, but what drew his attention was what was happening on the street. The street felt familiar somehow, but everything was different. All the cars parked nearby were older models of some more recent ones, a few stores and signs appeared to look very dated, and some of the locals walked about in different clothing then he did. All he remembered was that he was with his friends last, and he set about to find them. From what he assumed, it seemed that whatever happened in Twilight's lab, it seemed to throw him back in time. Everything around him was almost concrete evidence. But what really shocked him was the date. 31st January 1986. And it really hit him as he walked past a TV shop, replaying footage after the Challenger disaster only 3 days prior...
Circuit got up and walked out of the alley, taking in the sights of 1986 downtown Canterlot. Advertisements at the home video store (which, in 2016, would have been a GameStop) depicted the release of Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome to VHS. Computer stores touted the recently released Apple Macintosh Plus. The toy store was boasting about the newest G.I. Joe figures, while broadcast footage of the explosion of the Challenger space shuttle played on the televisions in the TV store. In front of the store, he saw a very familiar face... "Crim?" he asked, "Is that you?"
It seemed that Crim found a friendly face, and he didn't change at all in appearance, meaning that Crimson and the rest of his friends must have instantaneously ended up in the same timeline as a single group without any effects to their appearance, personality or age. "Yeah! It's me" Crimson responded. "So...to spot the obvious elephant in the room, we are now in 1986"
"I noticed," said Circuit, wiping the dust off of his jeans. "I can't believe this is actually happening..." --- Rainbow Dash groggily awoke, feeling much like she had had a hangover. "What happened last night..." she muttered. She found herself inside what appeared to be a motel room. The only things that seemed out of place were the early touch-tone telephone and the massive CRT TV, which appeared to be airing the morning news. "Welcome to Canterlot News 7 in the Morning on this Friday, January 31, 1986..." This was when it hit her. She had been sent back in time. Presumably it had happened last night, when she was in the lab with Twilight and the others. Rainbow Dash ran out of the room and made her way downtown. If she was sent back in time, she hoped the others had been as well... She stopped dead in her tracks when she noticed two figures in front of the TV store. They looked very familiar... "Circuit! Crimson!" She ran towards them and gave them a hug.
"Rainbow!" Crimson cried out, only to be hugged by the woman only a moment later. "Circuit only just found me, glad to see that we aren't the only ones"
"I should hope not," said Circuit, feeling slightly crushed by Rainbow's hug. "Do you have any idea where the others are?" asked Rainbow Dash. "Not really," replied Circuit, "though they can't be too far... I hope..."
Not long later, Twilight emerged around the corner still dressed in her lab coat. She found the three of them together, and she soon felt the smile on her face grew. But at the same time, her disappointment did as well for causing such a disaster in her lab. Well...what she thought was a disaster anyway. Nobody really knew what happened, everything was normal until everything suddenly went white.
"It... worked..." said Twilight, "I did it... the first successful time travel test in the history of humanity!" "Wait," asked Circuit, "You planned this?" "Well, I didn't plan this exact date," she replied, "I had warned of the possibility that we may all end up in different points in history, but it seems I was proven wrong!" Rainbow Dash was happy to see Twilight again. "Do have any idea where everyone else is?" she asked.
Twilight scratched her head. "They would not have gotten very far, so I suspect within a radius of the city center. We did however, wake up in different parts of the city. So I would suspect that the others are gathering in the middle of the city."
While the others began to head off, Crimson's mind drifted off elsewhere. Instead of his attention going to his friends and meeting up with them, he was thinking of something much more personal. All he needed was a phonebook...for later. Soon, the group found the rest of their friends in a drastically different appearing town-center. It was almost the most 80's side of town that they ever seen....
Sunset Shimmer, Rarity, Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie all stood in the middle of the town center, waving back at the group.
"Applejack! Where have you been?" Rarity asked, looking at Applejack's new clothing. "Well, I figured that it would be better to adjust to the period's clothing rather then get looked at weirdly." She replied, noticing the very 80's set of clothing she now wore.
All of them came out of the clothing shop with a new set of clothes. "I look ridiculous" Rarity admitted. "Now I know why I don't really like the 80's..."
