After the events of the Friendship Games, the United States government launched a high-priority investigation into the rumors of arcane magic being displayed at Canterlot High School. From their data gathered through the extensive reports, they have decided to make laws regulating the use of Equestrian magic. Twilight Sparkle supports the proposition of these new laws, wishing to atone for the damage she had caused in her Midnight Sparkle form. Sunset Shimmer, an Equestrian native, is highly opposed to this, believing in the liberties that America was built upon. And things are only about to escalate, as the main group of friends are divided completely into two. For the regulation and for the freedom of magic, with a very notable Fluttershy as the Wild-Card.
Circuit Breaker at first was indifferent to the proposals, however he realized that it was too dangerous to keep using magic, so he sided with Twilight. Rainbow Dash also sided with Twilight, because she was afraid her magic might consume her mind the more she uses it. Applejack sided heavily with Sunset, citing her strong conservative beliefs and her distrust of the government.
Crimson remained valiantly on Sunset's side regardless of what happens, having been using magic and being raised around Terran magic since he was born. Pinkie Pie on the other hand, supported the actions of Sunset with a similar stance as she did, but ultimately seen supporting Magic as the lesser of the two evils, or as the lighter shade of gray in the situation.
The two groups were divided when it came to the future of magic, and it only would get worst from there.
