(@MorphinBrony) Canterlot, USA. One of the biggest little cities in the world, aside from having the title. That went to Reno. This little city had seen quite a handful within the past few months, and things had been quite crazy for the residents of the small town. A month or two ago, the usually low crime-rate within the town had jumped to previously unprecedented levels, the jackals of the urban night hunting for bloodon holding a local resident ransom, and demanding blood return to them for price. The other incident, a very recent one, included a sudden infestation of a previously undiscovered species in worm that had spread like wildfire across the city and local area. When the worms suddenly died, scientists from across the country suddenly flocked to study and experiment with the corpses that left behind. Some had turned to ash, remarkably. Others had been intact, and those that did, were being used for research purposes. But as there had been no alive specimen, along with the extinction of the species upon it's bizarre discovery, left the scientists with very little to work with... Other then scientific curiosity, life continued on in the small city. Business as usual. Some went to work, some went to play, some went to study, and in all, things had returned to a normality that hadn't been seen for a while. And in all, life was rolling back on track. For the time being....
Spoiler: Music for scene Rainbow Dash hated walking to school. Some people would think that she prefered the convenience and speed of a vehicle, which was true, but this wasn't her biggest problem with it. Rainbow Dash lived in a rundown section of town, which consisted of decaying Victorian houses and rundown trailers. Many of the people who lived here were either incredibly poor, unintelligent, addicted to illegal substances, or a combination of the three. As a result, it was ridiculously unsafe to walk in the streets at night, or indeed, ever, as this was just asking for trouble. Not that Rainbow Dash wasn't used to it. She had grown up her entire life in this neighborhood, and had, as a result, knew how to defend herself quite well for a high-school aged girl. She simply prefered to avoid trouble whenever she could. However, her car was still in the repair shop, so she did what she had to. As if to prove her right, an intoxicated-looking, malnourished man in dissheveled clothing with an unkempt beard approached her, staggering haphazardly. "...h-hehehe... lookin' good, girl..." he said in a raspy voice, almost drooling. Rainbow Dash was having none of this. "Eyes up here, weirdo," she said sternly, "I don't have time for this." The man ignored her and got closer, attempting to pull up her skirt. This caused Rainbow Dash to lose her temper, picking him up off the ground and suplexing him into the pavement. She kicked his now-unconscious body in the groin for good measure before storming away.
It seemed to be quite sunny this morning... Crimson Lionheart had the luxury of being able to live only a couple blocks away from High School, easily within walking distance with music blasting from a pair of headphones. Normally, he'd take his car and drive, but he often dedicated at least once a week to keep himself in shape and get some exercise. His mother had to start work early this morning, not like it mattered, as Crimson had been feeling unappreciative of having his mother basically save the world. He figured that it was better, of course, to focus on the day ahead of him and hopefully catch up with his friends. It'd only felt like a small eternity since the worms ruined everyone's day, but now him and his mother had to keep a secret about his friends. Particularly one of them being an entirely different species from another dimension. He could keep a secret, and so could his mother, but it didn't rest easy that one of his best friends was what some might call an "Alien". Canterlot truly was a strange place... After a brisk walk in the morning, he made it to the crossing and was about to walk towards the school. The School Bus arrived as well, so he knew he had been making a decent amount of time. Some new students even walked off from the bus, adding to the fresh wave of people. Some were younger. Some looked to be about his age. It was either that he didn't know these people if they are truly new, or he never even bothered to talk to them. Canterlot High was becoming such a big place that it was sometimes hard to keep track of people. Nonetheless, he took his headphones out of his ears the moment he spotted a familiar face.
"Hey Rainbow..." Crimson said, twirling his headphones in his fingers before putting it in his pocket and looking around. "Guess we both happen to be early, the others aren't even here yet."
"Funny you should say that," said a familiar male voice, as a red 1983 Maserati Biturbo pulled into the parking lot.
"Oh, hey Circuit." Crimson said before the others stood around the doorway of the building awkwardly. A sudden unexpected chill in the wind was enough to encourage the rest of the group of friends to head inside. --------------------------- Spoiler: Music for Scene At that time, there was a new face to walk off the school bus. A young lime green girl took the step off onto the pavement below her, looking at her new school building, almost intimidating in size. She wore her backpack around her, almost looking nervous by the multitude of new faces around her. She was more then just new to the area. She was totally new to the country. Her parents had been talking about moving for years, and it wasn't til recently that it actually happened. Like any newcomer, she didn't know just yet to where she was going to be fitting in, her mind currently on overdrive on not making a bad impression. Ivy Wind just sighed in content, knowing that whatever was gonna happen today, she was gonna do her best to be herself.
As Ivy walked in the door, she was startled to hear a noisemaker blare in her ear. "Hey!" said Pinkie Pie excitedly, "You must be new here, and that means you don't know anybody, right?!" "Well, yes," said Ivy awkwardly, in a thick Quebecois accent, "That is, unfortunately, true."
Pinkie seemed to jump for joy at the new student, almost looking like she was bouncing for joy. "Have you been around the school yet? Like, have you seen a tour and all? Ooooooh! I'm Pinkie Pie! I forgot to introduce myself!" Ivy seemed confused to what was happening before she slowly nodded. "Well um....sort of." She said in her thick Quebecois accent. "I've seen photos of this place before, but I've not been on a full tour yet. I think that's what I'm doing later on when I get introduced to the school." "Oh, okay!" Pinkie bounded. "What's your name, newbie?" "Um....Ivy." The new girl told the pink bouncing party girl, who seemed way too enthusiastic to meet people.
"Nice to meet you, Ivy!" said Pinkie, shaking Ivy's hand vigorously. "Um, nice to meet you too, Madamoiselle Pie..." replied Ivy, nervous and somewhat uncomfortable with her situation.
After helping the new girl get introduced into her first classes, which she happened to share with Ivy Wind, Pinkie Pie would help warm herself up and try and get her to help meet her friends. That opportunity came during recess, in which Pinkie happily brought her newfound friend along into the cafeteria to find a large table. There, in the distance, was a large group of girls and two boys...
Rarity was the first to notice the new student. "Oh, goodness me, darling, you look WONDERFUL in that suit!" said Rarity excitedly, "May I ask where you purchased it?" "If I remember correctly, the Boutique Jourdain," replied Ivy. "My goodness, you're Quebecois!" replied Rarity, squealing in joy. "That explains so much!!" Applejack gave Rarity a stern look.
"Ladies and gents!" Pinkie seemingly announced to the table. "This is Ivy Wind. She's a new girl" All of the girls and the two boys at the table happily introduced themselves among the table. Pinkie decided to repeat the names quickly to her, just making sure she remembered who they all were. But judging by appearance, it didn't seem to be very difficult with the way she did it. Ivy was left with the two boys near the end of the table. Circuit, who was sitting next to Rainbow Dash. And Crimson, who sat right near the end of the table next to Sunset, and a free spot that was supposedly met for Pinkie, although Ivy could take it. "That's Circuit. He's from California, he's really cool!" Pinkie smiled. Circuit, halfway into eating his lunch, could only wave in response for now. "And that's Crimson. He's from Australia, and his mother is a cop!" Crimson smiled as he waved. "G'day Ivy" "Bonjour" Ivy said to the girls and boys at the table, happy with herself. "So good to meet you"
Crimson went to slurp on his soda and relaxed into his spot. From his particular spot on 'The Table', he could see anything that tends to happen around the cafeteria. From idle chatter, groups of students that dotted every table with different interests, to even some of the studs trying to impress and woo some of the more attractive girls around the school. Not that he was eavesdropping on anyone due to the loud atmosphere of the room, but he didnt' mind not feeling like he was left out... At the same time, he didn't realize that Sunset seemed to jab him in the elbow, all while the other girls were talking to the new girl. "Wha? What?" Crimson looked about, suddenly reconnecting with reality. "Geez Crim, that's like the second time this week." Sunset said with concern. "You feeling alright?" "Yeah, suppose that I have been feeling abit funny lately." Crimson told her. "Just got stuff on my mind, that's all" "What is it?" Sunset smirked with a grin. "If you well....don't mind me asking." Crimson thought about it, then to his surprise, he didn't actually know.
Out of nowhere, there was a loud scream, as a well-dressed young woman with beige skin and charcoal hair ran through the cafeteria, her eyes filled with tears. "Octavia? What's wrong?" asked Pinkie Pie, very concerned. "Oh, Vinyl..." Octavia replied between sobs, in a thick British accent. "I don't know where she is. I haven't seen her all bloody day!!"
"Oh dear....are you sure she's alright dear?" Rarity added. Octavia was visibly shaking in her boots. She was very clearly distressed, paranoid and all. Her tearful attempts to speak kept being interrupted with sobs. "She didn't come home last night! S-she told me...that she was gonna be late home, then....she wasn't home so I figured that she left for school early. But...it's lunch time now. And I haven't heard anything from her....." Sunset and the girls gasped. Crimson looked worried at Octavia, who started to cry again. Pinkie Pie got up from her chair and went to give the poor girl a hug. It was well known that Octavia and Vinyl Scratch were best friends and roommates despite their completely different tastes in music. But....only a handfew knew about the relationship that the two girls had. "I......don't know what happened to her....." Octavia sobbed
"Mon dieu!" gasped Ivy. Circuit didn't know Octavia that well. He hardly even talked to her. But he knew he couldn't stay out of this. "Don't worry, Octavia. We're gonna get to the bottom of this," he told her. "You're Circuit Breaker... r-right?" she replied, "I heard about w-what happened with... your dad... You have experience... with this sort of thing... w-what should I do?" "I'd call the police," replied Circuit, "File a missing person report, that sort of thing." "Right... good idea..."
Crimson sighed, getting the attention of the girls, Octavia and Circuit. The cafeteria, seeming uninterested to what's going on from the crying before, went back to normal. "This must be what's bothering me." Sunset raised an eyebrow. "That thing from before? Do you remember now?" "Sorta." Crim told everyone. "Mum has been really stressed at work lately. She keeps saying that the workload she's getting is out of control. The whole department is frustrated and tired." Ivy looked curious. "Your mother is a police officer, qui?" Crim nodded. "She's the Chief of the Canterlot Police Department. The only person more influential and powerful then her is the mayor. But anyway, I think we could ask her for advice after school...." Circuit looked in agreement. "This is serious. I think if I take Octavia and raise the issue with either Principal Celestia or Vice-Principal Luna, I'm sure they would understand that we can excuse her for the rest of the day. The last thing we need is Octavia to be worried sick during class." Octavia weakly nodded, a grief stricken smile on her face. "T-thank you.....
