    One year...

Circuit Breaker couldn't believe it had been one year since it happened. He could still remember it like it was yesterday, as much as he wished he could forget...

He had been abducted by the Changeling queen, Chrysalis, and was forced to mate and give birth to a brood for her... Small, fleshy insects pouring from every orifice of his body... The agony of knowing what had happened was too much for him.

Even so, he still was going on the field trip to Camp Everfree, because he wanted time away from his thoughts...

Life was peaceful again after the chaos that ensured over a year ago. Last year, humanity was threatened with extinction with the sudden and rapid emergence of the Changelings. While it started small, several countries across the globe were affected with signs of "mysterious" murders that were occurring in major cities and population centers.

With the destruction of the Canterlot Hive, along with various footage of the creatures recorded on phones reaching the mainstream internet and public, mankind took a surprising turn against a race that wanted their destruction. The United Nations agreed in unison upon a terrible act, any Changeling Hives encountered or known were to be destroyed. The Secretary-General of the United Nations regretfully approved this action, knowing that this is mass genocide, but knew that it would be for the best for humanity as a whole.

In six months, virtually 90% of all the Changeling Hives on Earth were destroyed. Scientists studied the physiology on this race, amazed at their incredible abilities while being incredibly cautious. Politically, the discovery of a hostile race against humanity started to bring humanity closer then ever before. Centralization began to take place in an increasing rate, and many nations and cultures decided to put aside their differences. Talks of pan-continental nations were starting to emerge, and it seemed that this was the start of a potential golden age of humanity.

The world seemed to return to peace, except for one specific victim...

As Circuit arrived at Canterlot High School, he immediately sought the company of his friends, the only people he felt comfortable around anymore...

His friends were a very special group of people, who has stood with him during the roughest of nights and the brightest of days. Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Sunset Shimmer and of course Circuit's special someone, Rainbow Dash.

Of course, Circuit also had two other special people. Crimson Lionheart, the kid with a troubled past, and the one who saved Circuit's life during the Changeling Crisis. Alongside him was the recent transfer student, Orchid Bloom, who was now living with Crimson and his mother after the death of her abusive father.

They were a special bunch after-all, and in today's assembly, the school was going to surprise the hard-working, or hardly working, students of Canterlot High.
