Principal Celestia was tense. Today seemed off for some reason. Ever since she got that phonecall from Principal Cinch across at Crystal Prep, she almost didn't know if she wanted to commit to her offer. The last Friendships Games ended in disaster for everyone involved, especially with the complaint of near-fatal injuries having taken place that forced some parents to pull their child out from school. Since then, Canterlot High School's reputation has been growing in decline. And Cinch knew this. Her offer almost rubbed it in her face. The middle-aged woman looked out the morning window in her office, blinds shut to that not much of the sun escaped. It was the early morning, roughly 7.30am. Students weren't expected to turn up for a while. She thought about Crystal Prep's offer, thoughts remaining heavy. Should Canterlot High accept and potentially win, it's reputation would be saved and could solve a financial issue in some of the faculties. If not, then maybe parents might want to send their children somewhere else. Celestia took a deep breath and dialed a long number before holding the phone to her ear. The moment the call was established, she only said a sentence before hanging up. "I accept"
However, before she could hang up, a voice replied, "Accept what?" It was a male voice that the Principal didn't recognize. "Oh," said Celestia awkwardly, blushing, "I'm sorry, I seem to have dialed the wrong number. My mistake." "No worries," replied the man on the other end before he hung up. Celestia sighed and dialed more carefully this time. "Thank you for calling Crystal Prep Academy," replied an electronic voice. "Para español, por favor oprima número dos. Pour le français, appuyez sur le numéro trois, s'il vous plaît." Celestia hung up. She was too tired to deal with an automated prompt today. She made a mental note to ask her sister Luna, the vice principal, for Cinch's phone number. Just as she was about to ask her sister on the intercom, however, her cell phone rang. "Hello?" she answered. "Oh, Celestia, I thought you'd never answer," replied Cinch haughtily. "You see, I've roped Griffinstone Charter High School into the event as well. Never hurts to have more competition. And I've been thinking... the name 'Friendship Games' doesn't really fit here, since, I'm sure you're well aware, we aren't friends." Celestia rolled her eyes. "Save it, Cinch," she replied. "I just wanted to accept your offer, but only because my school's reputation has plummeted to-" "Oh, you think YOUR school's reputation has fallen? Crystal Prep's current reputation makes your school look like Harvard." Celestia chuckled slightly. She could understand why people didn't want their children to enroll at a school whose principal almost indirectly caused the destruction of all reality. "I accept, Cinch, but on one condition... if my students aren't allowed to use magic, then I want YOU to abide by the same rules," Celestia affirmed, "And don't think you can break them behind my back, because after last year, not only will the district be watching, but so will the U.S. military. Kind of hard to cover up what happened last year after it leaked onto social media. In fact, you should be lucky you're even outside of prison walls to begin with, at the very least." "You don't need to remind me," sighed Cinch in irritation, "I remember all too well what happened last year. But nevertheless, I accept your terms."
The rules of the new games are to take place in a public announcement over the PA as well as a whole school assembly later on in the day. Just after 9am, when the students were prepared for another day of work, the voice cracked to life. "Hello Students, this is Principal Celestia speaking to you all on this lovely morning. Today at 2pm, regardless of whatever classes are taking place at the time, will be a major announcement relating not only about our school, but also everyone involved in last year's Friendship Games." Celestia spoke onto the intercom. "I expect a manditory participation for today's assembly, which I will ensure that you would love. Meet in the auditorium at 2:00pm sharp. Thank you" ------------------------------ Car park, Canterlot High A new car had pulled up by a student, bright vibrant hair that truly sticks out in a crowd and a gorgeous light brown coat onto her hoodie. She looked at the large building, sighting with content as she picked up her school bag and locked her 2003 Honda S2000. Today was a new day. And today, this was Cinnamon's first day at Canterlot High....
Crimson Lionheart looked up upon hearing the announcement. He knew very well how much had happened during last year's games, even if he hadn't seen his ex-girlfriend, Sunset Shimmer, defend the entire school. His current girlfriend, Pinkie Pie, was a participant as well. "Crikey... this again?" he said in his thick Australian accent.
Cinnamon walked past the auditorium as the entire school was in the middle of the briefing on the new games. These games happened to be much grander then the Friendship Games, which was a surprising development for those who grew up in the area. She'd done the games for Crystal Prep when she was younger.... Meanwhile, Crimson had never participated in the Friendship Games surprisingly. He'd arrived in America just before the end of the games. He knew very well about what happened last year from his friends. This was to be his first games, and from Pinkie Pie directly as well. Social media also helped as well.... Now he was to be a participant in these special games against Crystal Prep. He didn't want to admit it, but he was actually really excited
As Circuit Breaker took his seat in the auditorium next to his girlfriend, Rainbow Dash, he sighed to himself. He never was very athletic, so he was unable to participate in the vast majority of events. He never learned to ride a bike, so motocross was out of the question. His only hope was possibly some form of e-sport, and he wasn't sure if those would even be events this year. They certainly weren't last year. "You okay, dude?" Rainbow Dash asked her boyfriend in concern. "I'm fine, hun, just worried about the games," he replied.
Crimson sat nearby Circut in their row right next to Pinkie Pie, Crimson's girlfriend and the colourful personality of the year level. He personally felt he was capable in the majority of the sports, but he didn't know the stakes and why these games were such a high deal. "Give me a break" Crimson muttered under his breath. Meanwhile, Celestia brought out a list of the sports that would be occurring for these new games, some ranging from simple to some that could easily double as some game from Wipeout or Ninja Warrior. It was the Friendship Games, multiplied by 10.
