@Crimson Lionheart Here we gu ^^ ----- The first thing I noticed when I woke up was that my bed suddenly felt very uncomfortable, as if I had been lying down on the ground in the middle of a forest. This was quickly followed by the realization that I was, in fact, lying on the ground in the middle of a forest. ...the hell? I thought, Where am I?! What's going on?! As I slowly but surely stood up, I looked around me, very much worried about my situation. It certainly didn't look like any forest I'd ever been to. It looked as if nature decided to take a normal forest, a rainforest, and a swamp, and combine elements of the three together just because it could. It did look somewhat familiar, but I couldn't, for the life of me, figure out why. I checked to see if I was wearing any clothes. To my relief, I was: a simple red tanktop and green basketball shorts. Then I realized I had more important concerns than clothing. I couldn't remember what had happened the previous night, which was a very bad sign. I'd seen the Hangover movies, so I knew how this sort of thing would usually play out. But then again, how would an unemployed college-age man get into the sort of situations that would usually cause these things to happen? I didn't have time to ponder the answers to these questions, however, for I could hear loud hissing noises behind me. I turned around, and to my utter terror and disbelief, I had come face-to-face with a hydra. Its many heads towered above me, leering at me with a hunger in its piercing red eyes not unlike that of a starving man when confronted with his favorite food. Oh crap, I thought. With no time to question how I had encontered a supposedly mythical beast, I turned tail and ran as fast and as far as my out-of-shape legs were willing to take me, not looking behind me until I could no longer hear the hydra. By the time I had finally collapsed onto the ground from exhaustion, I was no longer in the forest; instead, I was in a field of grass, with a small, unassuming wooden cottage in front of me, and what looked like the edge of the forest behind me. I was relieved to have escaped with my life, but with my energy spent, I began to drift into unconsciousness; the last thing I saw was the cottage door opening and something yellow stepping out of it...
Midnight. All the infinite expanse around me was nothing but an obsidian cosmic ocean dotted with light beacons of refuge among the night. The ground below me was a swirling grass field of vast distance. My back had been firmly placed along the solid ground beneath me, almost stuck like glue, as the world seemed to stop underneath me yet the heavens continue to accelerate it's stars. With a little effort, I groaned in pain as I tried to sit myself upright to survey my surroundings. Nothing but a field. I went to check my physical form, which seemed to have been fine, while seeing the added benefit of clothing. Jeans, a hoodie, sneakers and a belt. Instead of panicking on where I had now arrived in, how I was able to get home, I decided to better survey my surroundings by heading to the highest point nearby to take observations of the environment. Or better yet...find the nearest settlement
----- I slowly regained consciousness as I awoke from my slumber. "Oh my... you're awake! I've been so worried about you!" said a soft, quiet female voice. "Mom? Is that you?" I asked, still not entirely awake. "I... I had the most horrible nightmare... I dreamed that I woke up in a forest and found myself face-to-face with a hydra... It was terrible." "Oh goodness," replied the voice in a concerned tone, "Well, you're safe and sound now, here in good old Ponyville." "PONYVILLE?!" Hearing this made me far more awake than coffee ever could. The name sounded familiar, but I couldn't quite identify how. Nevertheless, I sat up slowly, noticing my surroundings. I appeared to be in the living room of a small house. But then, I discovered the source of the voice; a small, four-legged yellow animal with stubby hooves, a pink mane and tail, a picture of three stylized pink butterflies on its rump, and large blue eyes. "What's going on?!" I asked in a panic, "How did you find me?! Who are-" The little horse simply hid behind a chair with a squeaking noise.
Everything was pitch black. My eyes seemed to flutter awake as I instantly woke up in fear, almost screaming. My last memory had been landing in a field and walking, then everything went black. I woke up in my fearful state, wondering what had happened. This didn't feel like a dream. This was a reality, and one that I didn't wish to partake in. I woke up to find myself in a small bedroom, neat and tidy with a blanket on the top of me. The sun seemed to have been out, and everything was curious and strange as it appeared to be. Where was I?
Seeing that I had clearly scared the poor little thing, I slowly approached her, trying to calm her down. It was at this moment that I noticed that she was half my height, and my caution didn't appear to be helping the situation in the slightest I decided the best thing to do would be to just sit down and wait for her to work up the courage to approach me again. After all, she was genuinely concerned about me.
