I Believe to have found my cutie mark! i used to be into folk but i've looked broadly and now interested in just about every genre (except metal. because that isn't music) i've got little time to spare on fridays becaouse of 2 music clubs and today i discovered how EASY it is to use drums. me and my friends were having a competition to see who could mimic the gorilla from the cadburys advert (Ponies outside of uk if you dont know: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnzFRV1LwIo ) i won best passion even though i never played drums in my life before, (it even sounded like the advert!) but i guess that adds another musical instrument to my list of things i can play! also our band is thinking of rehearsing YET another song, its probably a choice between buck rogers by feeder and when you were young by the killers Are there any other ponys with musical cutie marks out there? (i also guess in introducing myself)
hmm, I like metal very much, but I also like many other kinds of music like Classical, Folk, and New Age. Not everyone can like the same kinds of music but what is important is that we all love music! Welcome to the herd and I think the guitar is a great cutie mark
Welcome to the forum! I'm a terrible composer (I have been trying to make a Dubstep song in a few days now). Anything music related could impossible be my cutiemark, I'm a blank flank. I do suspect that it may have something to do with animation though, I love animating.
Disagree with the metal is not music statement, as I like metal and hard rock, but regardless, welcome to Everypony. Enjoy your stay.
hey, i play guitar, drums, bass, sing, and record music... lol and you really shouldn't say stuff like 'metal isn't music' that's just asking to be flamed... and i love metal, and every other genre.. lol but yeah! welcome, im pretty new here too... x,,,x
I'd urge you to listen to this all the way through, a great listen, very musical Saying metal isn't music is just as silly as saying Folk isn't music, tastes are subjective but any sort of emotional combination of sounds conveying some sort of human inspired message is music, as senseless as it may seem. I'm sure if you listened to enough metal you could find something you'd like, you just choose not to because you typically don't like the style, but metal is very varied, just as much as any sort of genre, with it's own nuances - it's a measure of how much patience you have to deal with sounds you don't normally like, but approach it with an open mind and you should definitely find you can enjoy it as you would any other genre. Anyways welcome to the forums, glad to have another musician here.
I would like to point out that metal has some of the most talented musicians ever. Dream Theater and Devin Townsend are proof of that. <3 progressive Welcome to EP.
