Hello. With Foxytail's permission, I would like to introduce you to the My Little Pony Fan Labor Wiki. The name is a bit unwieldy, but the purpose is not: the wiki aims to catalogue this fandom's productivity, be it in the form of fan art, fan games, videos, music, or fan fiction, among others. It is not a repository (like FIMFiction, the Pony Fiction Archive, or deviantArt), but an encyclopaedia: we host pages which summarise the fandom's activities in any of the many fields which are of interest to the wiki.

So I would like to invite everyone here to participate in the wiki; you do not need a wikia account to edit an existing article or even to create a new one. New pages can be created either for your own work or for something else you would like represented on the wiki (such as a fanfic or a musician you like). All that's asked is that a new article be of reasonable length (between 150 and 300 words, at least, depending on the type of article), verifiable, and opinion-free.

Currently, fanfics and similar story-based fan labor dominate the wiki, but there's no rule against other type of content, like articles for fan sites. This forum doesn't have an page on the wiki, for instance (nor do any others currently), but it can. For forum regulars, I imagine it should be quite easy to put together a page; possible areas that could be described include a summary of the forum's various sections (including the mechanics of the roleplaying section), the forum's history, how/whether the forum software has been customised, whether there are certain unusual rules and conventions, whether there are any running gags/memes exclusive to this community, ...

Every contribution matters, no matter how small, including spelling corrections on existing articles or citing examples of certain memes. If you'd like to help, that'd be greatly appreciated. If the last between-seasons hiatus is any indication, the fandom is going to grow a great deal more until the next new episode, and the wiki has the opportunity to become a central information resource to newcomers, and maybe to more experienced fans as well. If you have any questions (about technical aspects or our few content restrictions), please don't hesitate to ask.

This seems like a decent idea. I'd like to help out as well. Unfortunately, I suck at writing in detail so I fear that any articles I create will be stubs (too short). I may edit a few though if I can think of anything suitable to add.

It's a good idea, but I must say one of the entries made me laugh. I doubt he did it himself and I really wonder why he was put there. I'd like to say more, but then people might be upset with me.

I wouldn't worry about that. The administrators aren't particularly trigger-happy; unless a page is very short or very inappropriate, it won't get deleted, and a lot of time is granted for improvement (which other users can also help with).

I wouldn't worry about that, either. There are users who tend to write in too much detail (including myself), so it balances out ;). There are also pages which don't require much detail, like ones for musicians (cf. Tsyolin's article). And the character pages, which track common characterisations and memes, are always in need of another sentence or two, or another example. Take Trixie's page: it already has a decent amount of prose, but links to no images or fanfics as evidence. If you know a piece of fan labor that matches, you can add it in, massively making the article better with very little effort.

You can contact me via PN if it's something an administrator should know about and you don't want to talk about it publicly.
