hey guys its cc hereto give my opionon on luna in the latest episode to lookl back we`ve had little story or develeopment on luna, most of us projescting our ideas of her into fanfics comics, and some people starting fanclubs with her first appearnce being that she was sealed in the moon for 100 years(the justfullness of that hptly debated) it seems right she would be out of touch with pony society wich translates into her social problems i nightmare night holiday episode i know its luna eclipsed nightmare night sounds better) it is shown she wishes to be friends but sadly years of bad repuation, has undermined her chances, including pinkie pie choosing to make her seem scary by accident terrifying the small children in hr idoticy(srry pinkie fans) leadingf her to decide if they cant like her,she will be feared, while it is uknowbn how they can move on from that to develop her as a character i doubt we`re not going to see her anytime soon(perhaps glow in the dark figure?) it also seems she can shapeshift into the form of her past self nightmare moon, while meaning nothing(used as a form to scare everypony at the end,it shows that trey as she might she cannot escape the way people will always see her as a harsh, evil entity while deep inside she is a caring, selfless alicorn(dont care if thats not right terminology) who just wants to be loved. it must also be noted that awhile back it ws said by one of the developers(cant remember wich one)that we would see the force that corrupted her, hile it m have been discord(WHO SHOULD BE BROUGHT BACK,CHCOCLATE RAIN FTW)it gives room for a recurring viallain her is some evidence quickly to back up discord: wanted chaos and disharmoney, and speciales in turning people against loved ones,so its possible he couldve talked to luna befgore they sealed him away but anyways hope u liked the review remember this is opionion and should be treated that way ,fell free to discuss,up m rep if u like and as always have a cookie(*)
Hey. I myself a quite delighted to know that Luna speaks Elizabethan. Very eloquent of her. The yelling though; not so much. Finally, it was a very wise decision to have an episode orient around Luna. Why you might ask? Simple. Now Hasbro can sell Luna paraphernalia!
Perhaps, but it really did convey the necessary message; that for some reason little ponies (as well as some grown ones) enjoy a good scare. Further more, Pinkie is quite well known for being the physical embodiment of a non sequitur. But for the most part, I do believe it was intended for her to be such a silly pony to provide comic relief. What surprised me was Shadowbolt Dash. I was expecting Wonderbolt Dash. Though perhaps the Shadowbolt part is better fitting for the the Halloween aspect of the episode. (As apposed to Mayor Mare, who is a clown.) Finally, I would like to express my opinion on how well Zecora was portrayed, as well as her costume. Though perhaps she did go a little overboard in scaring the little colts and fillies (+ Pinkie Pie). As such, in my eyes, this was a very successful episode; perhaps not my favourite, but it was a good one nether the less. It was a very fitting Halloween episode - considering the Halloween episodes of most shows somehow succeed in communicating absolutely nothing.
i would pay to see a lazer lighht show showing just zecoras bit cue someone making a omv remix of it but it stinks of trollestia that she would let people be fariad of her sister so much
i bet you a piece of luna fanart of her wearibg adaorable sock that someone int he next week will have a nmm pmv posted on equestria daily!
I wouldn't exactly call her selfless. She wants the love and adoration of all the ponies, after all. That said, she IS the younger sister, she HAS suffered a horrible stroke against her reputation, and she IS only just returning to her royal duties after an impromptu thousand-year not-so-pleasant not-really-vacation. I can't say as I blame her for wanting respect. She sure chose a rather awkward way to go about it, but that only further highlights the awkwardness and unfairness of her situation - everything she grew up around is gone, everypony she knew is dead except for her beloved sister. I definitely see a benevolent ruler in her, and I feel sympathy for her, but I wouldn't call a tantrum-throwing princess selfless, exactly.
on topic: now she seemed bit old fashioned and somewhat like she came from medevil times, which is understandable since she was away from Earth for 1000 years, and still in mind stayed in way that were things in time when she was sent to the Moon. Now she needed time to change, and she turned out to be everything what I expected (ok, except hair, but that's just detail). Seems that she has much magic power since she was able to turn to Nightmare Moon and back with no problems at all. I hope from now on that we'll see more of Luna, at least as much as we see Celestia.
it could be now twilight has settled that luna will always be that kid who doesnt know how to react to people and can scare/turn poeople away wthotu thinking
Honestly surprised Celestia isn't involved in her behavior or reconditioning, though it makes sense to have Twilight do it since she's the main character, but... really? Lauren Faust was the one who described Luna as having (potentially?) been corrupted by an evil. Celestia mentions that she and Luna battled and sealed Discord over a thousand years prior. Perhaps he was involved, but Discord would've mentioned something like that. Then again, Luna was (SOMEHOW WTF) missing that entire episode. World goes to hell, leaders aren't around. :|
I liked the ending, I liked Luna's character, but I thought how they resolved the issue was a bit rushed and incomplete. The ponies, being scared of Luna in the beginning, didn't seem to be in the state of enjoyment in being scared in the spirit of the holiday; they just seemed scared of Luna. Whatever, I'm excited about Luna in future episodes. P.S., Grey0ne, are you an XKCD fan? (your sig)
I've had a personal pet theory that Discord was the one who initially corrupted Luna, perhaps firing off a little "seed" of himself during their fight, or just before he was Stone'd. It WOULD explain his original glorious/victorious pose - he knew he'd still gotten the last laugh. Celestia has probably been bucking TERRIFIED for her sister and kept her in hiding for a while, if that were the case. We saw in the Discord episodes that he's the one thing capable of breaking her composure, so even if it seems extreme, it wouldn't necessarily be out of character. Regardless, as I've said in another thread, Luna was behaving like... Well, a child that's trying to act like an adult. She had a bit of a female version of a Cute Shotaro Boy syndrome going on, acting SO SRS while trying to take back the responsibility that had been stolen from her for so long. She probably still WAS pretty young back when she first went loco. And that was on TOP of all the differing factors making her re-integration into modern society so difficult. We're basically talking if Queen Elizabeth were somehow brought into modern times, alive, with full memories of everyone she knew BACK THEN... Who, by the way, aren't alive anymore. More than likely, Celestia shook her head playfully when Luna said she was going out to try to change everypony's mind and then just told her to be herself... Which kids ALWAYS interpret as 'behave as the exact opposite of yourself'.
Anypony else notice that this episodes Luna looked much different (older, taller, different hair) than the Luna from Season 1? My theory: After the EoH turned Luna good it didn't completely get rid of Nightmare Moon. I think Nightmare Moon is like an alternate personality, or as they say in the show, she was created out of Luna's bitterness and anger. This alternate personality became dominant when she was banished to the moon. So the EoH didnt remove Nightmare Moon, but instead released her hold over Luna and caused them to fuse into one again. I think you see Luna when she is much younger because the initial aftershock caused much trauma to the personality of Nightmare Moon, which caused it to curl up into a ball so to speak, but after some time Nightmare Moon began to refuse with Luna, which caused her change in appearance. This is evidenced not only by the change in her appearance (looks like a cross between young Luna and Nightmare Moon), but also the fact that she references herself as "We" instead of "I." Also, when she gets mad, you can see a glimpse of nightmare moon come to the surface a bit.
The "we" she used when speaking is called the "royal we", and it was customary in ages past for rulers (of the European variety, at least) to refer to themselves using the "royal we." Luna even says in the episode that she speaks like that because she's royalty. :3 Also, Faust said that Luna isn't fully grown yet, and her appearance will most likely continue to change, though when she is fully grown she will NOT look like Nightmare Moon. Still, that's an interesting idea you posted.
