Welcome to Everypony! Typically, pony names follow a certain...flow. (Noun Verb) (Verb Noun) (Noun Noun) Also, they tend to be three syllables. (If you want a "traditional" pony name) Mine's Quill Inkwell (note the three syllables), but my full name is Quilliam Bartholomew Inkwell the Third which is not only pretentious-sounding, but also quite the mouthful. LIke Poetic said, just go with a name you like.

Ah good! The cavalcade of gifs and videos has arrived. Splendid. Hey-howdy-hey, I'm Tyro. A name I basically read in a book and thought "Yeah...that sounds good". It's stuck ever since. Means 'Novice' in Greek interestingly. Apparently, it's a woman in a Greek story of some kind. Seems a little more than a footnote. Actually, when I need a good name, I tend to switch languages. While we're in an increasingly multi-lingual world, particular phrases and words can still sound exotic and unusual. Google Translate lets us throw words in and it'll spit out a foreign equivalent within a nano second so what I like to do is take an aspect or related word for a character and toss it into Google with a particular language to see what comes up. I usually start with Finnish and move into other places like Italian, Greek and Spanish if I don't like what going Fin gives me. Maybe that could help? I managed to come up with names like Kyrios, Toivo and Mestari Tuli using that method.
