What if we had new mane six? Lets face it. It seems that the journeys of the mane six are starting to wrap up. The best examples of course, would be Rainbow Dash joining the wonderbolts academy and becoming the top of her class; and I am sure that we have all heard about the whole Twilight thing. Keep in mind that, right now, I have no idea if any information about season 4 has been released. What I am wondering is, is it possible that we will be seeing a new cast of mane six in the next season? And will it be good for the show?
A rather interesting concept, and not one I think that's ever been discussed here, as far as I know. I think it would be very interesting to have a new main cast of characters to learn about and cheer on, and it would definitely keep things fresh. However, the stories of these characters are not quite yet wrapped up as it is, not until they are all grown and old would I really consider their stories over. However, having set up their their stories and implying that they are set in what they will do for life and leaving it on that note, with a bit of mystery, would be a rather poignant conclusion the way I'm picturing it. But would it ever happen? No, it won't. It doesn't really fit the tone of the show, not to mention that kids would not want and possibly not fully understand why their favorite ponies are gone to be replaced by a bunch of usurpers. We prolly wouldn't like it either, although we would better understand it, and some of us might even feel it a better end than having us grow tired of the characters that we've come to love. No, just no. The Wonderbolt Academy was only a one week long thing. Rainbow said so herself when she left and said "see you in a week." And they never said that the Wonderbolt Academy is a direct way into the Wonderbolts; it was more than likely just a training camp for prospective future Wonderbolts. It's just like a camp I've been to at SeaWorld, where we went behind the scenes at exhibits and learned a lot of the ins and outs of working at SeaWorld. It wasn't employee initiation or anything, just a way to show prospective future employees what it will be like if they end up choosing to become employees in the future. As for the Twilight thing, becoming a princess DOES NOT mean that she will have to leave Ponyville. It would be EXTREMELY out of character for Celestia to tell Twilight she can't stay in Ponyville if Twilight wants to stay.
If they replace the mane six I'm done. I can handle making Twilight an Alicorn, but to completely replace the whole mane six would be inexcusable.
Tara Strong posted on her twitter and said that they aren't splitting up the mane 6. Now that that's out of the way if they did bring in a new mane 6 I really don't see how that would work story wise considering the mane 6 are the "Elements of Harmony" and all. Plus what kind of personalities would they have? Right now they all are different in their own special way and I don't see how they could write characters as unique and different as these 6.
My point exactly; they are the chosen ones, they can't just be replaced. You can't have some random six ponies come in and start doing the things the mane six have been doing like wielding the Elements of Harmony.
Interesting concept. But if they were to replace the Mane 6, I think it'd be better if they did so in the future for a new show/G4.5/G5 or something, while the original mane 6 still appears occasionally. (kinda like Zecora, like SunBurn said) Though, replacing the Mane 6 for this show/G4? Highly doubt that will happen.
I don't think its too far-fetched to think they would at least at some point start a new generation. It might be fun to see how they do it, I think. The show is based on the toys and the toys need to keep changing so people keep buying, so the show needs to change too. I don't think a new story with new characters would be bad, if it still continues to be a great show that entertains I'll still watch, and I'm sure many others will too.
For those still going on about the Twilight thing and whether or not this would happen, let it go. This is an unrelated hypothetical - not another rumor - discuss it as such.
The entire show revolves around the mane six; there has not been a single episode that didn't feature at least one of them. It wouldn't even BE Friendship is Magic anymore if they replaced the whole mane six.
the Mane Six are the Mane Six due to a prophecy. They are, in a sense, prophets. A prophet is indefinite and cannot be replaced because a prophecy is inscribed in history and the course of time. MANE SIX...REMANES! (purposely spelt wrong)
I'd rather see a "prequel" series about the adventures of Celestia and Luna before they became alicorns.
New Mane Six eh, I vote AppleBloom, Babs Seed, Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle, Twist.... and Spike since Spike is already back up Rainbow Dash XD. *or more realistically some new filly*
