Every once in a while, as you're browsing the World Wide Web, you come across something you haven't seen in a long time. It could be as far back as only a few years ago, to something from your childhood.

So...let's talk about nostalgia. What do you have fond memories of? Something that, when you see it in the present-day, or simply reminded of it, you can't help but reminisce? You can even post pictures, or embed a Youtube video, or link to something. It doesn't have to be pony-related, obviously, but who knows--you may have seen some fanart or read a fanfic crossing over FiM with something from your childhood you want to share.

    Anyway, discuss. ^_^

I like to reference some stuff in my fanfiction (the most prominent being Valkyrie Profile).

Randomly browsing anime stuff to watch a while back and came across a top 200 list. Sparked me to watch Gunsmith Cats OVA and made me remember the movie Princess Mononoke (one of my cousins' favorite movies that we grew up watching).

Another recent reminder was the first Pokemon movie (a friend vaguely describing it "with a storm") and Pokemon Heroes 2000 (??? Latias and Latios). Man, I'm young. :(

I used to be a fan of the X-men cartoon but was disappointed it didn't hold up when I was older. The irony that My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic would be better the X-men is just hilarious.

As you can imagine though I am loving this whole Superhero movie craze.

Yeah I watched pokemon and played the games as well.

I also have fond memories of The N64, especially Banjo Tooie and Donkey Kong 64, 3D platformers have never been as good as they were in those days. Back then Rare rocked the gaming scene with to this day some of the best games I've ever played. Perfect Dark, Jet Force Gemini and Conker's Bad Fur Day. I even still boot my emulator up and play these games through again every few years.

I was also a Final Fantasy fanatic for a time. I'm so sad to see the series lose it's magic since 10, I've lost faith in square enix now.

I have to laugh when I saw the things people were remembering on this thread - I wonder how many people would have to google the things I remember from my youth? Eh, probably better to just link 'em.

Land of the Lost - Crappy special effects, but for the time, it was excellent!

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Land_of_the_Lost_(1974_TV_series)

And U. F. O., a British show that does not hold up. I saw it a few years ago, and couldn't figure out why I liked it.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UFO_(TV_series)

And finally, Space: 1999 - Corny, but I loved it, and it kind of holds up now, even if nothing happened to the moon in 1999.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space:_1999

Man, I'm sure I got a list of a bunch of shows few of you have heard of.

And Setzer, I see we have another thing in common - super hero movies. We had a pretty good crop this year, eh?

Oh! Yetione, "The Mole" (or "Krecik" as it is called in my language) is very nostalgia to me as well

But there are many more, actually too many to mention all of them ^ ^

For example: The Mysterious Cities of Gold : )

The other one, one that especially moves my heart is "The Lion King" - propably the first movie I ever saw in a cinema.

Oh jeez, nostalgia? Man, I practically live on it! Even my Youtube channel, Nostalgic Blu, is (Maybe 95%) based around it.

Being born in the late 1980s, I was a child of the 90s and what a time it was to grow up then. Television was flowing with quality cartoons and live action shows and gaming was at it's finest.

    Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

Secret of Mana (and SNES/Genesis gaming all together)

    Dragon Ball Z

    Godzilla

All these things are still part of my life.

Hmm.. my really early on childhood was sheltered from almost everything.
But, Pokemon was my destiny! /)^3^(\
So well, you know... tons of the cards is all.
And moving... tons of moving. But I don't think that's a good thing unless I'm moving back to the city. :p

I may not be old enough to experience nostalgia but I remember watching this about 6 years ago when I was 8ish and I loved it, I would go crazy if I missed it.

I hated Johnny Bravo and Dexter's Lab. Sadly, never got to watch even most of Samurai Jack. Never played Fire Emblem and I forgot what Fist of the North Star even is.

    Then there's Akira...

You thought Cupcakes was even remotely ****ed up? You haven't lived until you've seen the movie and/or read the original manga. Nostalgia! My cousins had the remastered DVD for it and that's how I first saw it.
