A young pegasus foal lay in the alleyway, shivering. His pure white coat was stained with blood, and his deep purple eyes were half closed. His side was covered in cuts, and one wing was bent where there was no joint. He would have blended in with the snow, if it wasn't for his hair, which was black tipped in purple. Nopony noticed him. Nopony cared. He could feel his life start to slip away from him.
Eluuna was familliar with the alleyways. Living there as a filly, she knew all of the town. She was walking through one in particullar, when she saw the colt. "Oh, little darling!" she said anxiously. She picked up the bleeding colt and flew towards her bakery. She landed and quickly went inside. It was warm and smelt of Vanilla and Cinnamon. She took the filly upstairs to her living quarters and turned on the fireplace. She went and grabbed the medicine from the cabinet, and put some antiseptic on the wound. Then she put some bandages, and she put the filly in her bed. Then she went downstairs and started some soup.
The little colt opened his eyes, suddenly finding himself warm and the pain dulled. His voice was soft and sweet. "Mom?..." He called out, this time shivering out of fear.
Eluuna heard the call, and poured the soup into a bowl. She took it upstairs, and saw that the little colt was awake. "Hello, dear. Are you feeling alright?" she said slowly and softly. She didn't want to excite him.
"My name is Eluuna. I found you in the alleyway, hurt. So, I took you back, just to see if I could help. Would you like some soup?" she said quietly.
He nodded a bit. "Yes, please..." He said, wincing a bit as he shifted in the bed. "You have a pretty name, Miss Eluuna..."
"Thank you. Speaking of names, what's yours?" she asked, as she gave him the soup, and slipped a spoon into his hooves.
He started to get a spoonfull of soup and blow on it. "Oh... I'm Stardust Shade." He replied, taking a small sip.
The soup has a creamy broth, with carrot, peas, potato, and something else. It was very warm. "So, where's your mom?" Eluuna asked after a while.
He looked down, a tear sliding down his face and into his soup. "Sh... She's gone..." He said, his voice wavering.
Eluuna took the soup out of his hooves, and placed it on the bedside table. She put a tentative hoof on the little colt's shoulder. "It's ok.. Don't worry. It will be alright."
He wiped the tears off his face. "Will it? Th-they say my parents can't come back. I'm scared..." More tears rolled down his cheeks.
"Well, it's settled then. Is there anything you need right now?" asked Eluuna pleasantly. "How are those cuts?"
"They're fine but... Errr... Do you know any stories about the Wonderbolts? I want to be one when I grow up!" His voice was confident, but his bent wing made it somewhat pitiful.
Eluuna thought for a moment. "When I was a little filly, about your age, I loved the Wonderbolts. They were other ponies at that time. I wasn't the best flyer at the time however. When I went to one of their shows, and I saw them. It was amazing, Shadow. They zoomed all around with their amazing tricks. I... well.. I guess I was so enraptured in their fancy tricks, that I didn't realize I was leaning too far forward until it was too late. I fell down to the clouds, started to scream. Remember, I was an awful flyer. I passed through the clouds, and started falling towards the ground." she said thoughtfully.
