On January 24th, the US Senate was going to meet and have their vote on whether or not SOPA will be approved for passing. Basically Obama made that impossible by saying that he will not support SOPA. HOWEVER, this does not mean that SOPA is destroyed, the House of Reps will meet again next month and revise the bill, and we can't forget about it's slightly weaker cousin PIPA.

Both his decision of halting SOPA and his removal of US troops from Iraq have increased my like for Obama.

I don't live in the US but it will almost definitely effect most people around the world. I've always liked Obama, he seems pretty cool and now he's 20% cooler.

I'm neither. I hold my own opinions with issues. I won't allow myself to be limited by set principles.

The Whole Internet is Now on Blackouts. Sites like Google, Newgrounds, Youtube, Wikipedia, Godaddy and others.

This is gonna be solved once and for all. The Bills said today is still flawed no matter how they sit there to fix up the errors and The president pretty much had enough of hear of these two bills. He plans to Veto them.

Funny to think that companies like Disney, Apple,Warner, ESPN, AOL, CBS and ABC who support SOPA and PIPA have record history of Piracy that they gave for the public to download years ago back in early 2000. If SOPA or PIPA Wins all the companies they support these bills will lose as well.

But the way i see it. These Bills will fail. The world is screaming at our Government and the U.S Citizen are protesting right now and throwing stuff at the white house like smoke screens and trash. These Bills are turning the people into barbaric people.

Now is time to Drop these bills and get on something more important then this. Piracy has been around longer before the internet was born. We can't use the internet as an accuse for all this.

*Edit* I just hope That our President is a man of his word. He promised the whole country that he would Veto these bills.

Exactly. It's them who created Limewire, Bittorent, etc. and they are complaining about piracy? It's their own fault, and now the whole internet is in jeopardy, awesome.

It's internet crap. As soon as he gets his votes and gets re-elected (SHOULD he get re-elected) he'll just support SOPA. He supported it as it is now, and, mysteriously, changes his views?

It's a vote scam. Presidents do it all the time.

Although, his approval ratings will shoot straight back down to a cozy 20%, as he should be.

That would be reasonable if the republican party was full of opposing views. Although this is possible as a complete vote scan it's completely ridiculous when you think of Ron Paul's crazy oddly liberal antics. This bill was destined to fail from the start, seriously all of 2011 there were protests after protests oversea for internet censorship. At the most it's a way to get people to think of him as the man who saved the internet... but I'm with you. I think politics are too often thought out prior to public knowledt.

Being in office gives you power, and power corrupts people, testy. It happens to anyone. Nobody is above temptation or corruption.

Power has the ABILITY to corrupt.

However, strong willed people can choose to avoid corruption.
