Okay, here's some food for thought: After studying the subject known as Pinkie Pie in her natural habitat, I've come to the startling conclusion that maybe - just maybe - our favorite pink party pony might be a queen changeling in charge of her very own hive. Why? Consider this: - Pinkie's ability to appear at multiple places at once hints at her being in charge of at least a small group of changelings, all able and willing to appear as exact replicas of their queen and constantly communicating with her. There might be a whole network of Rainbow Dash finding, Pinkie Promise checking pseudo-Pinkies all over Ponyville, or even all of Equestria. - Another hint at her being at least familiar with changelings is her claim of "Eh, I've seen better" when addressing the changeling that tried impersonating her at the Royal Wedding. Assuming Pinkie didn't lie, that would mean that she really has seen better. - Her rather violent reaction to being left alone during "Party of One" could be explained by a panic reaction due to love deprivation (imagined or not). While I'd imagine that no party pony worth their salt would be thrilled at the thought of being alone for extended periods of time, a changeling who feeds on love might risk starvation for all we know - especially one who's just as willing to share her love with others as she is willing to accept it from others. - Her curious and otherwise logic-defying acts of random reality warping could be explained by having access to actual magic. All changelings have horns as well as wings, and though the magical capabilities of regular changelings are debatable (not counting the shape shifting), a queen changeling is very much able to use magic much like a unicorn would, if Queen Chrysalis is any indication.
