I told my mom about the heart replacement thing i found in this thread.http://www.everypony.com/forums/showthread.php?3846-I-need-some-help-with-decision-making&p=144850#post144850 And she said she found out the president approved a thing from the pepsi company that allows them to use tissue from ABORTED FETUS'S,Not animal fetus's HUMAN. Cannibalism..And no one knows that.... I will never buy a product from the pepsi company ever again..... Why...?
Wait. Are you saying there is fetus in my soda. *checks mountain dew* -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
I somehow find that very hard to believe. I'm sure it is a totally false rumor started in order to try to get people to stop drinking Pepsi. People will believe anything even if there is no proof.
To clarify: They don't put the cells in the drink, they use HEK 293 (Human Embryonic Kidney Cells) to TEST new flavors. They use the receptors to see what flavors react best. They aren't putting dead babies in your pepsi so calm down. While it's still bizarre (they can use animal cells to test this), there isn't any cannibalism involved here. Actually read here: http://www.lifenews.com/2011/05/25/pro-life-groups-boycott-pepsi-for-using-aborted-fetal-cell-lines/
I see, well then. I must say that I don't really care about this matter. Bye thread *jumps overboard* -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
So in short, they're utilizing stem cell research and are using human fetuses instead of animals ones for one of 2 reasons. Higher quality tests or Massive publicity.
No idea. Animal cells would be cheaper. Rat cells would produce similar results. *In Spocks voice*This is a highly illogical decision.
Probably both. And this news is rather old, so I would say that the publicity probably lasted 5 minutes and then moved on to the next controversy.
Wow, this is a topic difficult for even me to broach. I must say, that's quite... bizarre. I love Pepsi, but... hmm...
I don't get why scientists are so keen about Stem Cell Research. I mean, they only got it to work with a stillborn from the eighties. Every other test is a failure.
*facehoof* Maybe that's why it's call research. And you are wrong by the way. Do you even know that stem cell research is about? Taking blank cells, implanting them in the a body with a disease such as cancer and having those blank cells make copies of the healthy cells so they can fight off the bad ones.
