Let's talk who we want to make a grand return to FiM and why they deserve blaring trumpets and screaming songbirds as they walk down the gala, all eyes on them. To not clutter this thread, I'm going to limit my choices to characters who haven't appeared since season 2 since who knows if Babs Seed or Sombra will pop up somewhere while also avoiding the last couple of newcomers in S2 for the same reasons, so no Chrysalis or Iron Will either. Crowd appearances don't count. Mine are Flim & Flam - Very much yes I see these two could be the best possible reoccuring antagonists in the show, sort of FiM's equivelant to Sideshow Bob. A couple of con artists who aren't evil but do need to con as per their way of living. What makes them stand out and the reason why I want them as permanent members of the cast is their charisma and intelligence when I think will work wonders as a constant mildly-annoying threat for the mane six to thwart. Philomena - Not really Her shtick was funny but I see no reason for her to come back and no reason for her to be forgotten. Iron Will - Maybe I can this guy coming back as a throwaway gag supporting character of sorts should the ponies need a trainer or a bit of muscle for a project. It would be nice to see more of his mad rhymes too. Pipsqueak - Maybe I can't see much reason for the little tea-sipping tyke to come back without some character development to justify any kind of screen time but I'd be welcome him with open arms if he came back in style. Gilda - Yes I want to know what's on Gilda's mind. Breaking up with who seems like your only friend for the sake of your reputation shows depth I don't see with too many others. I'm crossing my fingers but not holding my breath. Diamond Dogs - Not very much Mindless grunts who toil underground. I think they've served their purpose. Dearing Do - No I just didn't care for her at all. Steven Magnet/Sea Serpant - Yes You can tell Steven likes to watch broadway musicals if you know what I mean. I love the fact that a character (who isn't but clearly is based on) like that exists in this kiddie show and I want to see him back just for that. Rarity’s Parents - Eh Daddy was kinda funny but, um, not really concerned one way or the other on those two. Buffalo Tribe - Maybe Rocky relations between pony and buffalo-kind improving may be a good story but not good necessarily. Photo Finish - Yes, a bit "Tiem to make.... da magiks!" Fancy pants - Maybe Depends on what they add to the character. As he is, I see no reason for him to come back. Prince Blueblood - Yes Call me crazy but I liked Prince Blueblood. I like that he was a royal pain the butt. Why not bring him back to be a pain in more butts? Mysterious Mare Do Well - Absolutely Not I will club a baby seal if the show so much as mentions her.

With the exception of Prince Blueblood and Gilda who I both hate I would like to see all of the listed characters return also take Twist, Diamond Tiara, Silver Spoon, Snips, Snails, Jet Set and Upper Crust out of the show because every other character who has ever appeared in the show is awesome.
I really liked Twist, I'd love her to return, actually. xD as for Snips and Snails, they kinda annoy me, ya...

I'd like to see all the one-shots come back at least once. Also I think people need to give the Diamond Dogs more Credit, they are essentially the Dwarfs of Equestria I'd like to see more of them, learn more about their culture, see what a proper diamond dog city looks like, and what a female diamond dog would be like * I imagine tall scary & ugly, or surpassingly beautiful to the point you wonder how they could be part of the same species as the males XD* Also would love to see Gilda pop up again, maybe see the Griffon Kingdom.
No to all except perhaps Photo Finish. But they could just use her as some photographer in the background if they need one.
I'm hoping to see some more Vinyl Scratch or Octavia (not necessarilly together). Aside from those, i'd say Rarity's parents were interesting enough for another minor appearance.
Speaking of Octavia I wonder if that rumor I heard last year about a there being a Rarity and Octavia duet this Season is true?

It could be just like the episode of Teen Titans where Red X returns, and it could run on a similar premise because once again it would be a character who had been previously unmasked returning in a situation where everyone realizes it can't be the same person it was before.

G3 pony. Maybe, but the other G3 ponies came through alright, so I'm sure they'll manage to make Minty just as awesome. :3 They've released a Blindbag of her, and are apparently making these; Which I can't wait for. ^^ Yeeessss... Yeeeesss...
