Someone asked me this question and it took me a week to realise this is a great thread topic. So How obsessed are you with ponies out of 10? I'll try and make the scale better defined 0 - Ponies? Why would I have any interest in young horses? 1- Seen an episode or 2 of MLPFiM, didn't interest me much. 2- Watched several episodes of MLPFiM was quite enjoyable 5- Watched the whole season and thought it was so Awesome, eagarly awaiting new episodes. 8- I spend a lot of my free time being involved with the fandom and checking out fan work now and then. 9- Nearly everything I do is pony related, fanficion reading, music, PMVs, pony podcasts, Pony Forums. 10- I have evrything ponified, desktop, clothing, toy collections. I can't live without them and people think I'm crazy. Life without pony is no life at all.
5 or 6 for me. I watch and enjoy ponies, and I'd love to see more of the new season. But still I don't consider it my life. ...does that make me a bad person?
Erm... 6-7. Mainly because the other Generations still make me feel slightly sick, and the toys never interested me. they just all look so same-y and personality-less... Maybe im just looking at the wrong places, in which case, ill give the toys a better looking at, But for now, 7.
well, by your scale I'd say I'm 6. I do spend a lot of time with fandom, show itself, I like to look at fanart (on dA), I check up EqD and DerpyHooves on daily bases, I have a lot of pony desktops (but not only ponies) and ponyfied some things in my life (like cell phone, pony cup, pony t-shirt (soon to come)), and stuff, but still I don't think I'm obsessed with it as much as some people I know here. Simply, there's more to my life than just ponies. that's why I'm 6, and not higher. also I don't like mlp toys really, they are simply too much for "target audience" for me. (t-shirts and plushies are another thing, although I don't have any plushies or don't plan to buy in some close time)
I'm definitely a 5. There's nothing I love more than watching the episodes, and I find it strange how I find the community of MLP and the series very far apart for me. I'm going to be watching episodes as soon as they come out, and I talk about Ponies nearly every day to me best pal Lupr (aside from chocolatechip of course ) but seeing as I'm at college most of my day, and I do things in the evening, I don't have much time to commit to a community like this non stop.
6. Maybe a 5. I often feel like an outsider in this fandom (note fandom, not community. I love this community whole heartedly.) Yes I love the show, I love it immensely, I love discussing it, I love watching it, I love everything about it. I also love the music from the community, the art, everything. However, none of those things are dominant factors in my life. I have other sources of music, and other sources of art. There was a time wen I was dependant on ponies, but I guess it took the worst thing possible to get my priorities back in order. Anyway, there are elements of this fandom I'm not part of. I do not share a love of background characters. Derpy Hooves, Vinyl Scratch, Octavia, I don't care for any of these characters. It's a fanon thing, and I'm just not with it. The same goes for OCs. Never made one, never will. It's just not something I'm into. I will happily sit down and overanalyse Pinkie Pie's character for hours, but there are just some parts of this fandom I'm not immersed in at all. I could expand on this, but I can't be bothered right now.
9 I have loads of pony pictures and wallpapers saved on my laptop and I use a different pony wallpaper everyday. I have pony themed ringtones on my phone. I have several pony toys and have even used an online guide to style their hair so it looks more like it does on the show. I also have some pony music on my mp3 which I listen to on a loop when I'm out. Also check pony blogs and look at pony art and stuff like that daily. I'd also love to get some pony t-shirts but I don't really like buying stuff online, especially clothes. I love everything pony basically and almost everything I do is somehow pony related now
You and me both, my friend. Darn. "To be continued...?" Confound these cliffhangers. Well-played, Lupr. Well-played. Let's see, I'm everything up to 8. I do spend a lot of my free time involved with the fandom, if you mean by me being here that is. I noticed Lupr differentiated between fandom and community, so my interpretation is potentially erroneous. I check out fanwork sometimes. Typically, it's standard fanart or fancomics. By "standard" I mean, non-shipping and clean. The line's drawn at shipping for me. I read fanfics infrequently. That reminds me, someone sent me a link to a fanfic a while ago and I didn't read it yet. When I have nothing else to do, I'll probably read it. There are parts of #9 that apply to me: Pony forums and I have pony music on my iPhone (if that counts) and I've noticed that I've been listening to pony music a lot more than any other music these days. I'd say about 90% of the time. I like PMVs, but I don't make them, so I'm not so sure that counts. I'm guessing this means one makes them. #8 I guess covers the whole checking out PMVs ("fanwork") thing. There is one that applies to me from #10: Ponified my desktop. Other than that, no. Although a shirt may or may not be in my near future. So, let's see, time for some fancy mathematical thinking (is that okay, Applejack?)... I'd say I'm a solid 8, but there's tiny bits of 9 and 10 in there, but not enough to be too influential. So I'd say... 8.5 Does that sound reasonable? Did I interpret the specifications in the scale correctly? If not, let me know. I'll adjust it.
I'll put myself around an 8 or so. I rarely or never even began to read any fan fiction what-so-ever, but I do collect merch and other stuff. So you could say I'm obsessed to a point, but not too obsessed. :derpe: Muffin.
Nope. I'm near your boat. Ponies aren't my life. If I had a choice between ponies and my Wife, I think you'd know which one I'd pick. 5.
