    Ookami Den Q&A

Hello and welcome to Ookami Den's very own Ask Me thread! Here, you can feel free to ask me anything you like, and I will attempt to give the best answer I can. These questions can be about anything, so feel free to ask whatever you like.

For those of you who don't already know, Ookami Den is a webseries I created a few months back where I play games with a friend (or multiple friends, depending). We make bad jokes, ruin games' atmospheres, and just have some good old fashioned tomfoolery. Our videos include some editing to add some jokes or whatever to play off of things that happen in-game or things we say, etc. So if you enjoy watching gamers make idiots of themselves on the internet, feel free to check it out.

And now, without further adieu, ask away!

When it comes to recording PC game footage, I use FRAPS to record both game and commentary audio. For console footage, since I only have a Dazzle capture card at the moment, I record game footage with Pinnacle Studio (came with the capture card), and I record commentary separately with Audacity. Then, I use Sony Vegas to sync up the commentary with the game footage, usually using sound effects or music from the game as a guide for synchronization. I.e. The microphone picks up the game audio through the TV speakers, and I use that to line up the commentary with the game footage.

After that's done, I edit sound levels and do some video editing with Sony Vegas. When the product is finished, I render it, then open it in VirtualDub to compress the file to a manageable size (it goes form ~90GB to about 2-3GB) and upload that to YouTube!
