An event happened that I never thought posible today. I went to Hungry Jack and asked for a meal, which included coke as a drink. "Sorry the coke's not working" he said. "What, do you have any other soft drinks" I asked. "No, all we have is coffee and Orange Juice" he replied. "Okay then I'm fine then, i'm not buying anything, bye" I said in an annoyed tone. Seriously I thought it was bad when they didn't have ice cream during summer, but no soft drink?! How do they lose such an important beverage. So they did not deserve my money, I decided to wait a few more hours to get breakfast from somewhere else. I just wanted to rant about that, if it sparks a discussion all the better.
First thing is what is Hungry Jack? It is like a burger joint? Seems like I've heard that place before... Anyways, out of coke? You could always just get your meal to-go and bring it home and drink. Normally I just go home, and drink any drinks I have at home, but I can understand if you want something like coke. All I do is just drink water so it may be different for me than what you want to drink.
Is Australia one of those places - there are places like this in the USA - where "coke" just means any type of soft drink and not just Coca Cola? Coca Cola - preferably made with real sugar, e.g. Mexican Coke - is the premier cola beverage. I accept no substitute if I'm going to drink 200 calories and untold metric tons of sugar. Pepsi is garbage. I tend to be a loyal person about brand names, but I don't think I am as loyal to Coca Cola as any other product. When I was a manager at my previous job, I was the only one in my department who had access to the firm's refrigerator in the department so there was constantly a battle between myself and the Coca Cola loyalists and the barbarians who badgered me about Pepsi Cola. Eventually my boss made me put in both, but it was a pretty heated environment anyway because it was a market research firm and branding is very important to people in that environment.
This has been bugging me for years, might as well ask someone in Australia.... Hey Setzer, when I visited Australia, there was this really tasty lemonade....drink...thing...that they don't have in the US. Would you happen to know what that lemon drink is?
Coke vs. Pepsi huh? Well I personally like Coke better, but I often buy Pepsi, because out of desperation it is often sold at super cheap prices. So I get pepsi whenever it is on special. @Zephyr Sqweps Traditional Lemonade?
...I don't get the dislike for Pepsi really. I do tend to drink coke more often admittedly, but Pepsi's fine as well... Then again, as somepony who doesn't usually drink without dilution, unless it's in a can... I wouldn't notice the most XP
Oh you visit Australia, but not Florida? (I know you've been to Florida though.) @Setzer; Do they have Vegemite? What is it? I heard it tastes good.
@Setzer maybe....I remember some calling it "lemon squash" or something like that.... @DRD yeah, I tried it....it was....ok in small amounts.

Every Australian I've talked to hates that stuff - says it tastes awful! Of course, I've only talked to two Australians, hardly an ample sample.
I don't drink soda, or eat fast food, but I used to. Occasionally someplace will be out of something, it happens. I don't think that has ever really bothered me though, I just ordered something else.

I've been loyal to the Pepsi brand name most of my life, but I don't call Coke drinkers any names. I used to drink Coca Cola when I was a kid up until the mid 90s when I discovered Pepsi. Then I realized that Coca Cola out of the can has a disgusting aftertaste. For some reason, out of a fountain machine, it's tolerable. Even if I'm in a restaurant that only has Coke products, I'll typically get a Dr. Pepper if that's an option, or maybe a Sprite. Then in 2007 (I think), I discovered a drink that was even better than Pepsi. Actually, it remains my favorite beverage, and that's Mountain Dew Voltage. I love the raspberry citrus taste, and the fact it has the same amount of sugar and caffeine as a regular Mountain Dew, plus a little ginseng for an extra kick. Anyway, I'm not going to turn this into a Coke vs. Pepsi debate. To be honest, I find talking to a rock to be more productive. People just like what they like. For me, it's this: Mountain Dew Voltage > All other Mountain Dews = Pepsi > Dr. Pepper > Sprite > Coke > Other Just my preference.
I drink both Pepsi and Coke, but my favorite soda of all time has to be Squirt other than soda I love strawberry-kiwi Snapple, sorry a little random I know but I love the stuff

I love Coke and Dr Pepper, but I'm unable to drink them due to my kidney condition. However, Fanta and Sprite more than make up for that absence.
