I was watching some old looney tunes this morning and happened upon an episode of Pepe Le Pew. I was surprised to see that there was a scene in the episode that was remarkably similar to "Griffon the Brushoff". The episode was called "Heaven Scent" (pun), and the scene where a cat it running away from Pepe is in conspicuously similar concord to the scene where Rainbow Dash is running from Pinkie Pie, right down to the gleeful bouncing.

I've searched high and low for anyone who's spotted this connection, but there was only me. B)

Good catch! It's hard to notice because it is very subtle. Even the music that goes along with Pinkie's bouncing is different, compared to the notes being used when Pepé bounced during his "chases."

That's not the only reference to classic cartoons in the series. Remember the scene in "Feeling Pinkie Keen" where all the stuff falls from the sky on Twilight

Yes, those were relatively easy to catch, especially the second one. Still good calls, though.

EDIT: Went onto the wiki, and it turns out that it's an official reference. And I spotted it. I feel like a winner.

Hah, grats on getting the ref! Being someone who watched Looney Toons all the time as a kid, I got it right away. He's done the bouncy-bouncy after the cat a number of times.

All these refs are fresh for this generation though, but I love how many cartoon series have refs to the old WB cartoons.

Note the two classic cartoon references (mustache and Scooby Doo chase sight gag)

I love they cued the Benny Hill style music. Ahh, the main reference lies underneath the layers of cartoon usage.

Actually, the similar chase sequence in The Ticket Master was also a parody on Benny Hill.
