Pokemon. It's not like I need to tell you what it is. Do you love it? Do you hate it? Do you think you're too old for it? Though to be fair if you do, you're probably in denial seeing as you're on a site about My Little Pony.

I don't particularly want to say too much in this beginning post here (I do have so much to say!) because I know people just pretty much breeze over it anyway. All I am going to say, is that I've been back into Pokemon since July 2007, when Pokemon Diamond came out, and I've been a massive fan and knowledge bucket for Pokemon since.

Pokemon, what does it mean to you?

I tried it, but then realised that it's like any other RPG- Long, repetitive and boring.

I've always been a Pokemon fan, and I've stuck with it long after my brother quit. The new pokemon are certainly.....different, but there are still some very good ones. As long as my team has a Poliwrath and an Electivire, I'm happy....

Before doing pony music I was with the pokemon remix crowd the most (I still hangout with them, just haven't done a remix in pretty much forever), though I didn't really do many remixes aside, these have to be the only ones:

    -Pokemon Emerald Medley
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54EQRJ91ERI

-Pokemon R/B/Y Rocket - Collaboration with Pokemoneinstein:

-Pokemon R/B/Y Burnt Mansion - Collaboration with LugiaDialga:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMPdrBo-ulE

    -Never did finish this remix:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMaOllsqBek

I haven't done a remix in a while, I've been meaning to do one for a while, especially since I've improved a lot since I used to do remixes, kinda want to try something like this:
    http://soundcloud.com/lumaria/pmd2-primal-dialga-remix

(Lumaria/Light Umbreon has to be one of the best pokemon remixers I've seen)

I actually watched the whole first season of pokemon the cartoon recently out of childhood nostalgia. It was pretty decent. But when I discovered MLP I realised it paled in comparison.

As for the games I still enjoy them and I have still bought every new generation that's come out up to white black. I think they are pretty fun games but I don't play them as obsessively as I used to I just beat the elite 4 and the champion once and then i'm over the game.

I watched up to around episode 40 two years ago. Nostalgia made it enjoyable, though some things got on my nerves. Namely the fact that Ash never seemed to actually beat a gym leader in a proper battle.

Team Rocket should just give up on Pikachu....how many times have they blasted off again? I don't care about Jessie but James is a good guy, he has potential.

I don't actually follow the show any more, I only properly watched it when I was a child.

It's the concept of the games that really interests me. I know it's not the most original idea in the world, but the battle system pulls of the monster battling theme really well. I love sticking with your team of little monsters, and raising them until they can take on anything the game has to throw at you. The only problem is that I find the levelling to quick, I would love to actually be challenged when raising a properly strong monster.

Though to be honest I just want to be able to fight alongside Spike.

    Where do I begin?

I've played Pokemon since I was seven with Red being my first pokemon game. This game changed everything for me. It's the game that introduced me to RPG's. Right now, I own Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Shaphire, Emerald, Diamond, Platinum, Soulsilver, and Black. I also have Pokemon Snap, Stadium 1 and 2, Trading Card Game, and Hey You, Pikachu. I'm 21 years old, and I'm not scared to admit I still love playing Pokemon. I'm working on Platinum and Black at the moment.

I also watched the anime A LOT growing up, and still kind of do. It's definitely lost it's edge after Johto and I think Ash's voice REALLY turned most fans away. One thing that bothered me about the anime is that Ash kept winning battles in BS ways, most of them with Pikachu. For example, Pikachu once beat a Rhydon by AIMING ITS THUNDERBOLT AT THE HORN!! There's also in his battle against Gary in the Johto region, his Charizard beat a Golem with one Dragon Rage, and for those of you who don't know, dragon rage is a fixed damage attack (40 HP). But you want the crown of all Ash Ketchum moments? Take a look at THIS!

I'll continue my ranting after I read thoughts on this video.

    @I_Ride_Ponies Hahaha...James is awesome...

I love the evolution aspect of the games. Seeing my cute little monsters transform into something horrifying and awesome is really cool. For example, in the new Pokemon games I came across this little fella:

When it evolved for the final time, i was shocked to see this monstrosity:

    Yeah...I kept him around....

Ahh, good old Pokemon. I actually grew up with the anime before I even knew it was a game. xD; I've played all of the earlier games, but I can't play any of the newer ones due to the lack of DS. I also like the console ones... (Pokemon XD, and even Pokemon Channel...)

Pokemon Channel....wow....I think I liked that one, even if it wasn't much of a game, just watching TV...

    @ Big Sims

That was pretty much on par with the YuGiOh series. I don't know if you ever watched it, but it just seemed like they were making the rules up about the card game on the spot. Like deciding that because a monster had a catapult, it could catapult another monster into the foe for nearly infinite damage. Though in the actual game the monsters were almost purely aesthetic at that point.

But come on, of cause lightning can be stored and used as a metallic armour! Didn't you do at least a BIT of science in school?

Why did it work on Swellow is my main question.

And yes, I did watch Yu-Gi-Oh growing up. Though the duels were good to me, it did feel like they were making cards up 3/4ths of the time. This is going to sound ironic, but this show annoyed me with all the the things they say about friendship. At least with MLP, they know how to balance it out and show different elements of friendship, but this show, they shove lessons about friendship down your throat, and it's usually the same lesson. But that's just me.

It was pretty forced, seeing as how pretty much all the episodes had some issue where someone was going to die, or be kidnapped. And at the end of the day it seemed a bit unnecessary when all people wanted to do was play some card games. Isn't that, well, you know... illegal?

Yeah, well this is same show who treats duel monsters, a kid's card game, as an act of war. He even uses his cards as weapons for crying out loud!

Anyway, getting back to my rant, I had a huge displeasure for Team Rocket. Mainly because they just don't know when to quit. There were times I found them kind of humorous, but most of the time, they were just an annoyance. I've watched a little bit of today's anime and they're trying to make Team Rocket intimidating. ...Really, anime? You've waited 14 seasons to make the main villain intimidating? I just wish they would go away and replace them with serious, intimidating villains that want more than just a Pikachu(even if the writers did make it a God).

Yu-gi-oh as a show was hilarious because it just seemed like all the time they were thinking "how can we make these boring cards more interesting for a TV show?"
-And thus they had to do things like make up rules as they went
-Make up cards that didn't exist
-Showcase impossible strategies that are horrendously impractical in the actual game itself
    -etc. etc.

The problem just seemed like they were trying to base it on the card game too much, which doesn't work too well if you want to make something actually interesting to watch.

I stuck with Yu-Gi-Oh for a long time, I forgave them for making those weird rules and cards up. However, I finally had enough when some bulls*** card called "The Seal of Orichalcos" came to the show. Apparently you give it to some monster and it jacks their ATK way high, but it turns it and the dueler evil or something like that. That's when I said, "F*** it...."

    So yeah, Pokemon....
