Yes you read right. Ponies are being banned at my school. I find this appalling and all from the idea that bronies is something to be ashamed of. And what really bugs me is that it is the sociology teacher that’s in charge of all of this. He so-call himself trying to teach how to "understand" and treat others but he’s saying that watching a show about ponies is wrong:Trollestia:. So now he’s treating me (and few others) to take down access to pony material and art. That’s an outrage.
Well, I see two options: Blind obedience to unjust rules, or fighting for your right to be an individual. I know which course of action I'd take, but the choice is yours. Whatever you decide, make sure you can live with the consequences.
I would help. Strip the flesh, salt the wound!!! ANYWHO... This is dumb. That's like telling Narrowleaf he can't come up with an example for this.
Call the White house because taking away your right to freedom of Speech! also have a friendly protest and take your sociology teacher to court
Do you mean they're being banned from your entire school? Are students being punished for wearing Pony attire, that kind of thing?
You know, I could care less with that fact it's ponies being banned, I'm MUCH more concerned with the VERY blatant disregard of the freedom of speech guaranteed to us!
Tckuta, whathewhat! They can't do that, that's ****** up, people have the right to find interest in whatever they desire to choose, that's like saying "you can't be a (insert religion here), NOW CONFORM!"
Everyone, calm down! I've seen plenty of schools do the same things to Pokemon and various other trends. Maybe they simply consider ponies to be too distracting in the school environment. Details are limited, so don't jump to the worst possible conclusion. ndogmario, could you clarify exactly what this ban would mean in practical terms? How would it affect your average school day?
My middle school banned yugioh cards because kids stole them from each other. If they just banned pony merchant similar to that, then I dunno, tough luck. But if its shirts, that's silly a shirt can't do harm. Maybe it has to do with bullying
I agree 100% That's just a guess though as to why it was banned. The victim is not the problem, its the bully's that need to be punished. But it's easier to remove things that cause bullying instead of making bullies stop. Its Sad really.
Those morons would find a reason to pick on someone. What they really need to do is get a drill sergeant to yell at them.
Ok, how about we take this thread and we veer it onto a more serious direction instead of simply screaming about how terrible it is. It's in the serious discussion section, so let's discuss it seriously. Now I'll address the elephant in the room: Why was it banned in the first place? You've left out the key point.
I already asked why they were banned. Since OP hasn't posted again yet no one will know. I assumed it was because bronies were bullied along with distracting people. Bronies focus more on ponies then work. Maybe they are answering questions with ponies.
yes, pony wear is also being excluded. I got dentition for wearing mlp shirts - - Auto Merge - - That's absolutely right. the teacher believe this will make us stand out too much and make us more potential targets to bulling. he thinks mlp:fim is a "lost obsession that we should out grow and soon are else we'll never excel in life". - - Auto Merge - - maybe, but who are saying stuff about bronies are rejects themselves and don't really bother us. in fact there really no brony involved bulling (minus myself but i always get pick on by those same rejects). so whats the problem?
Okay, wearing a pony shirt is not in anyway, shape or form breaking a school rule. I can understand banning things like pony cards and what not. But a shirt isn't doing anything. This is just dumb, you should all just wear the shirts.
