I honestly can't remember who came up with Ponsomnia... I think it might've been Sydra... but who here suffers from severe cases of ponsomnia? Or the inability to fall asleep or feel tired because they have ponies staring them in the face and feeding Pinkie's contagious energy into the deepest reaches of your soul? I suffer from ponsomnia on a nightly basis, usually not going to bed til 12 or even 3 in the morning even though I need to wake up early for something. Everypony Radio is the reason for my suffering but you know what? I WON'T GIVE IT UP. It's my addiction, it's my home! ^-^ But.. .XD WHO SUFFERS FROM THIS AWESOME DISEASE?! *EDIT* BEHOLD. IT WAS RINA THAT CAME UP WITH PONSOMNIA. DX SORRY I EVER FORGOT RINA! ILY
I know exactly what you mean. I was up until 3 am last night listening to everypony radio, I just didn't want to turn it off.
It's absolutely terribly awesome, isn't it? It's like "I'll go to bed after this song" then another awesome song plays and you're stuck there for another hour listening to the radio. If you don't mind me asking, what's your chat nae for EPR?
Even when i shut off the computer I'm bombarded by ponies. Even when i'm in bed, I have my ipod on youtube and playing all the pony videos on my favorites list. College is coming up for me soon, which I'm sure is going to be a nightmare....
It's not so bad anymore but when I first got hooked and watched the whole first season I didn't sleep that night, or the night after, or the night after and I litterally started to get worried, I thought my strange obsession and constant need to check EQD and read about ponies and looking at websites about it. Were all symptoms of going delirious from sleep deprivation. There were constructive things I wanted to do involving ponies, like this was before I made a PMV but I was too tired. Eventually I was so fed up of not sleeping I decided to get some pills to knock me out from the chemist. When I woke up I was still thinking about ponies. So the long answer is yes I had ponsomnia.
no i dont think you're mad... 10,000 Fluttershy's is like the sweetest Pony song ever. helps me fall asleep too.
Hmm, I don't seem to have to severe of a case - I sometimes lie in bed, and make plans for visiting pony sites in the morning, looking at pony pictures, watching pony videos (I'll have to check out 10,000 Fluttershy's, don't think I've seen that one), and, of course, writing pony stories. But I've been sleeping dead to the world lately, which is annoying as I usually have very lucid dreams, so I was hoping to enjoy some pony dreams! I did wake up the other morning, and for some reason, Rarity was on my mind - but on my mind as in, I had just been talking to her. That's usually how I feel after a particularly lucid dream about my friends. Hmm . . .
I'm very glad you mentioned that because I suffered from Ponsomnia. Most often I would wake up at half five in the morning, so I never did get enough sleep at night. Fortunately, my good friend comforted me about my problems, and before long the problem went away! Ahhhh.
Well, I never had ponsomnia when I first got into ponies. Instead I got it when I found EPR and had severe jetlag from flying 8 timezones forward. SO yeah, 7 days of no sleep at all. It was interesting.
I had insomnia to begin with. Now, instead of staring at my ceiling with crippling depression until 7am, I stay up and watch ponies and have funy until 7am. Ponies saved my life, I'm glad I have ponsomnia!
I definitely got it a lot when i first got in to the fandom. I would watch some episodes, can't sleep. Read some fanfics, can't sleep. Not so much anymore, but I still get it sometime. There are times now when thinking about ponies actually helps me get to sleep, sometimes
I work overnight so i had problems sleeping but now it's a little worse. I have to watch an episode before I go to sleep, it always helps.
Before ponies: It took hours to fall asleep After ponies: It takes hours to fall asleep, but I have a good amount of pony-filled thoughts while I try to sleep. Not all that much has changed really...
I guess I have this "Ponsomnia" as well. There are times when I'll be up until 4 AM (like last night) on EPR. Although, sometimes I've been up so late (early?) that I've seen the sunrise in the morning. *Sigh* My sleep-cycle is all kinds of messed up at the moment. I'll have to fix that eventually, especially by the time classes begin again. Then I may be up late, but doing homework instead. Ugh. At least I can listen to EPR while I do it though.
My sleep cycle takes more than 24 hours to go through. So whenever I don't have to wake up for something I'll just slowly become nocturnal and then slowly go back to normal. .-.
I'm almost always nocurnal...I was doing really good until last month, I made a goal to be in bed before 1 30 am every night. Then, last month...ponies happened O.O now im lucky to be in bed by 3 am...somtimes its 3 30 O_O but i at least get in bed before 4. Yeah when school starts again EPR is definatly gonna help me through late night study sessions
Huh, I'm sort of the opposite of your situation, notashamed. I used to always wake up REALLY late when I had no school to worry about. I used to get up at around 11:30-12:00. Now these blasted ponies make me get up at 6:30 now, checking in on EPR.
