Someone on DeviantArt named generalzoi has made a very well designed Pony Creator where you can make a highly detailed pony and export it into a picture for you own use. http://generalzoi.deviantart.com/#/d47efz4 As you can see in my avatar and profile picture, I'ved already used the creator, but I'll do some more needed detail to it, once I can get Adobe Photoshop. Just give it a try and see what you can create.
Get GIMP, It does the same stuff as PS but it is free. Sure, if you are used to PS, there's a bit of a difference. Stuff is named differently and may be in somewhat different spots, but it is a free image manipulation program, so can you really complain if the feature list is the same as something as expensive as PS?
I've known about it. It's what I planned on using to make my pony self. Never used Gimp, but I heard It's just as good as Photoshop.

I had heard of others, but not that particular one. The only things I would add is a coloring variant where it fades to the secondary color from the top of the foreleg to the hoof and an ability to import accessories like the glasses I wear in my avatar. I would be able to completely make my pony self that way.
Yaeh, I know it - I used it quite a few times, and I think it's good... The only thing that is kinda annoying is lack of hats like fedoras, but... That's not the problem. Gotta play around with GIMP and see what can I get. (I will recreate my ponies I created in PC - no pun intended..)
