Ok, so I was not going to even consider putting up a thread like this because I figured no one else gave a hoot :Boo: about Mbti and I didn't wanna' annoy people, but apparently a few people know about it and are interested enough in it, so why not start a thread? This is basically for analyzing the types of the mlp cast. If you have no flippin' clue what Mbti is, a description can be found here (though it's a bit of a tl;dr): http://understandmyersbriggs.blogspot.com/2012/12/the-8-cognitive-functions.html Anywho, here are my guesses for the main six: Twilight Sparkle- ISTJ Applejack- ENFJ Fluttershy- ISFP Rainbow Dash- ESTP Pinkie Pie- ESFP Rarity- ESFJ
I disagree with a lot of these tbh. Like, there is no way Applejack is an ESTJ, and there is no way Rarity is an "N". My proof is the "Look before you Sleep" episode, where the argument strung from Rarity's strong "Si" contrasting with Applejack's preference for "Se". Also, Twilight Sparkle is totes a "J" type, not a "P" type. My proof is "Lesson Zero", or pretty much any episode where she is obsessed with the future ("It's About Time"). buuuuut that's just my opinion, so whatever flies your star-ship
The problem with these tests is that they try to categorize people, something that is made impossible by human nature. For example, I'm considered INTP. However, I don't always behave as an INTP "should." Depending on what I want to accomplish, I can be loud, stubborn, and thoroughly NOT introverted.
It's not about "categorization", it's about understanding yourself and the functions that make up for psychology. If you've been led to believe that it's about fitting everything into some sort of box, then you have been looking at the wrong sources. The personalities tests are junk, there are much better sources for the stuff like the link I have posted above in the original post. I'm an INFJ, but just cuz I'm a "feeler" doesn't mean that I believe myself to be incapable of having thoughts. The fact is just that feeling happens to be my second function, "Fe", while thinking happens to be my third function, "Ti". It's not about "thinking vs feeling", it's about what kind of feeler and what kind of feeler I am and in what order my functions are.
