NEW RP IDEA WOO

For those of you who have read the Pendragon series, this RP would be based on book 4, The Reality Bug. For those of you who have not read the series, in The Reality Bug, Pendragon and his party go to a world called Veelox, where everybody has abandoned real life to join in an alternate reality program known as LifeLight. It pulls your thoughts and turns them into whatever you really want them to. The machines are within giant metal pyramids, and consist of cells that can hold 2-4 people each. The cells also provide a gel that bleeds through your skin so that the host does not have to pull out of reality to eat. The problem with this is that Veelox is dying because nobody wants to leave their reality. In each pyramid, there are Phaders and Vedders. Phaders take care of the technology in the pyramids, while Vedders take care of the hosts who are living within their capsules. These "employees" also have the ability to appear within someone's reality, if only as a hologram that fake-inhabitants cannot interact with. They're even more limited, for they can only appear if a host hits the red button on their While someone is inside an alternate reality, they also have a band attached to their arm that they can only see/use while they're thinking about it. Forget you're in a reality, you don't get the arm-band. Using these bands, you can (limitedly) control the reality. Want a pizza? Click the white button while thinking of pizza and a delivery guy will appear at your door.

In this RP, each character (all ponies, of course) would be in one super-room that could hold many more ponies than all the other rooms. The room would be part of an experiment to take place, having multiple ponies converged into one reality. This will allow all the ponies to participate in the same alternate reality. This is only a beta, though, so the testers are subject to possible breaks within the reality.

I have decided to create my own sort of system for this. While suspended in the dream, everypony will be awarded 1 exploit. Exploits allow you to change the environment to your will. If there's a building that you don't like, you can delete it. You have some enemies about to kill you? Place an indestructible wall of text in between you and them! Another type of thing you can get is only found in remote areas of the reality, and those are Hacks. Hacks basically allow you to do ANYTHING you want (within the reality, of course). Want to be an alicorn? Alicorn for you! Hacks only have 1 use each, so you can't, say, turn your entire party into alicorns, just one pony.

I'm open to suggestions! If you have any, please share them

Dude, that is one weird coincidence. Book four is the only one I have read. (I know, I know, I shouldn't have read out of order, but I was too lazy to look for the others and wanted something to read.)

Sounds kind of like Inception mixed with...um...something else. That I can't quite place.

    Anyhow, I'm in! :D

Well, in the end one person's opinion only goes so far against the majority.

Maybe it can be a one-on-one?

Yeah, I suppose that would work. If I'm going to make it 1on1, I'd have to re-write some stuff. (My character was going to be the phader-vedder for the group. I can't just have you run through it alone, can I)

    Yay!

It's been a while since I read the book, so you may have to refresh my memory on some things.

Honestly, you don't have to have read the book to get it. I based this off D.J. MacHale's interpretation of the LifeLight Alternate Reality System. The rest is purely original.
