I'll start talking now. Promise you don't read this if you still haven't finished the game SO..... REMEMBER I warned you! So don't be angry at me if you read this thread and still haven't finished the game. Ok. NOW I START THE DISCUSSION. So, like I said, I just finished the game Red Dead Redemption. What did you guys think of the ending? Was there any chance to save John? I screwed up with the dead eye thingy, so he died, but it was a freakin' movie of it, so I think it was ment to be that way. what do you guys think? I almost cried to be honest. After John's death, the game continued with his son, Jack. But there aren't any missions!! So I guess it was just some extra thing. Discuss! Btw, this game was awesome and I love it. Is "Undead Nightmare" a continue on RDR?
Aww yeah, I LOVE Red Dead Redemption. So much that I named my username after the protagonist John Marston. This game might actually be my favorite game. Undead nightmare is a what-if situation that takes place after John reunites with his family. While it's shorter then RDR, and it's not a countinuation of the ending, it's still pretty intreasting, so if you like zombies and RDR {Which I know you do}, go ahead and give it a try.
Oh man, his death was very sad, especially when I got to the part where Abigal and Jack bury his body. If you play that part with the proper pistol {One that shoots fast and has 15 bullets in each round}, and your really quick and good with fast dead eye though, you can take out alot of the *squee!*s that kill him. I got about 12 of them, one of which was Ross's assistant {You can't kill Ross at that part though}. But yeah, his death might be one of the most saddest scenes in video game history. The music during his buriel certainly helped that even further.
I cried. No other game has ever engaged me as much as Red Dead. I think this Youtube commenter said it best: "I don't care what anybody says. RDR is the best game ever made. I'm actually strained to call it a game. It's more like an experience. At no point during my experience did I feel like I was playing a game. I was John Marston, and I had a family to save. No other game has given me that experience of total immersion before." I think the main reason John's death affected me so deeply was because, in part, I wasn't expecting it. I didn’t read up online how the game ended, and I’m super glad I didn’t. I was settled down on the farm, spending time with my wife and son, working as a hand on the Mcfarlane Ranch and keeping the peace in Blackwater... And then I was dead. No other game, film or even has book shocked me so much with its ending. Edit: I can't listen to 'Dead Man's Gun' without getting emotional. Probably one of the best uses of music I've ever seen in a game. The rest of the music from the game hits me in the face with memories too.
I just panicked because I don't get the dead eye thing so I shot one time in the air and that was it.. But I could have taken all those *squee!*s out easy, if I had a nice cover, there were just 15 of them after all -.- but then the movie started I thought it was hard to watch him die, i felt horrible
You wouldn't have been able to take out all of them, their were at least 30 guys aiming guns at you, and 15 is the most you can get. It's still pretty awesome if you manage to pull it off successfully though. When you get to the ending credits, listen to the song that plays during the first half. Trust me, it's sad but very memorable and it will stick in your head for a long time. BTW, the pistol I was talking about is the Mauser pistol.
