The Changelings can be knocked out by confetti. The Daleks have destroyed entire galaxies. This isn't a fight. It's a slaughter. *EXTERMINATE*
I'm with Merlin on that. Changelings are more tactical race when it comes to their take over. They're able to infiltrate and control from within using their enemies as pawns, very effectively. Granted, they are only as powerful as the races they control but they're clearly able to come back defeat after defeat. While the Daleks can too, I always feel more like it's because the writers wanted them back and opened a time rift somewhere, figuring logic would sort itself out. Changelings display an insect-like appearance, suggesting that they are very capable of recovering lost population very easily in a short amount of time, like any insect hive would. Also, what the hell would the Daleks do if there was nothing left but Daleks? Write poetry? Play badminton until a deity turned up, wondering what he or she or it did with all those bacteria billions of years ago? The Daleks are scary in the sense that they are slavishly devoted to destroying everything but they're methods always seem rather blunt to me. They're always there to just kill things. A Changeling however, has the ability to hide and use your allies against you. They will work to take you out when your back is turned and that's what makes things so difficult to fight them. If Twilight hadn't showed up or kept her mouth shut, it would be a very different Season 3, now wouldn't it?
Gotta disagree with you there, Tyro The Fox. The Changelings' tranformation abilities seem limited to the pony races. The Daleks want to destroy everything that isn't a Dalek, which means that ANY form taken by a Changeling would be viewed as a target. The Changelings' ability to recover lost population quickly would be useful, if not for the fact that superior Dalek technology would make it easy to track down and destroy the nests. Any Daleks lost in the process would be quickly replaced by the clone machines.
Probably better then vogon poetry. Spoiler: contains Dr. Who spoilers Now I don't think changelings would have any hope of beating daleks. Reality bomb, tell me how a changeling would stop that. Would they fly into the medusa cascade, which if I remember correctly was within a certain time. Like hidden in a one second time gap, right? What can a changeling really do against that, nothing. It's hard to do any of the things they are so great at if they can't even get anywhere that's worth doing it. Daleks could just blow up the planet. I see that link said the doctor wasn't all that tough compared to a pony, but that's crap. The doctor saved the planet and calls the atraxi back to basically scold them. The doctor has also caused the daleks to work with other races to trap him in the pandorica. I don't see how a changeling could even compete.
If it's a question of being engaging, Daleks are fun but I prefer Changelings. If it's a straight up fight, Daleks are near invincible killing machines. Hiding only prolongs the inevitable.
Daleks for sheer destructive power, Changelings for insidiousness. Depends if you want to conquer or carbonize.
Ah! What if a Changeling could transform into a Dalek? They'd just have to shout "Exterminate!" every so often. It could be easy.
Can changelings even talk? I can't remember. Plus aren't the metals bits basically a shell. Sure a Changeling might be able to become a Dalek, but have no tin can to play in.
Daleks have too many technological safeguards for that to work. Remember they are the most xenophobic species in existence. If they haven't invented some alien detector device then no race will. Plus, how would Changeling-Dalek (I'm going to call him John) explain to other Daleks why he isn't exterminating? Or why he's suffocating in outer space. Or any other innumerable scenarios.
That's a good point and really depends on how the transformation abilities work. Illusion would be easier to pick up than full transformation of course but yeah, again. A straight up fight will put Daleks on top, regardless of how they hide.
Chrysalis can certainly talk. As for the other Changelings, they had no trouble copying Twilight's voice. "They're Changelings, remember?!"
Well that's why I asked, I've forgotten if they could. So he they do take the forum of a dalek, they are going to be the thing inside the tin can. I don't think a changeling could replicate that and if they could, would they be able to fire the gun. Silly little primitive hooved bugs can't do much.
I guess what it comes down to is a question of whether or not a blast of Changling magic would be enough to crack Dalek armor, and whether or not Dalek weapons would be effective against Changeling exoskeletons.
Daleks weapons could totally beat their exoskeleton. Also where are you getting they even have one? Is that a comic thing or something. Cause as far as the show taught anyone, it showed they have a queen, feed off love and love in a place on the outskirts of what could be called equestria. Anything else had to come from the comic or fanon.
Based on their insectoid appearance, and their abilty to withstand incredible impacts, the existence of an exoskeleton seems logical to me.
An appearance means nothing. Cause if they transforms in to other creatures then that exoskeleton would have to change with it. Unless they remove when they change. That seems kinda dumb. That or they don't have one. So what I've gathered is there is no proof of an exoskeleton, just fanon.
