Yesterday I came across this lecture by a disabled professional speaker named Sean Stephenson. Initially I didn't plan to watch the whole thing, but soon my attention was fully captured. It deals with the importance of personal involvement among people, and how we can create a warmer and safer atmosphere in our society. Nowadays people very much tend to built a barrier around themselves. We tend to be suspicious of others, keeping to ourselves, and not really caring about one another. This causes us to drift apart and feel isolated. Mr Stephenson has such a wonderful and warm personality, a great sense of humor, and a true gift for bringing people together. You can't help but admiring him.

Now being a pretty introverted person myself I must say I learned a lot from this talk. Not in the sense that I have to change, but that I too would do well to reach out more often to people around me, including strangers. Because just a simple sign of reaching out can have a huge impact on someone. It's a one-hour lecture, but if you're interested in the subject please take the time to watch it. You won't be disappointed.

It's a shame Sunburn left a while back, I think he would have found this interesting.
