It wasn't bad. I felt Applejack being so overbearing was slightly out of character, considering how often we've seen her let Applebloom participate with important chores before, and admirably at that. Also, giant head accessory closet, fire swamp, and chimera! All-in-all, not a whole lot happened in this episode, but I felt it was at least enjoyable. Oh, and I'm glad Scootaloo stopped the song. It was starting out off-key. xD
Once again, a very good episode that shows how overprotective Applejack can be over her sister. Funny how Applebloom was attempting a song, but then Scootaloo stopped it before it went bad. It's like now they're aware they usually have a song number when the episode's about them. The most interesting part about it has to be the scene with the fire swamp and the Chimera. That has to be the first time seeing a monster from Greek mythology since season 1. Man, this show's just getting better and better! Keep it up, Hasbro and DHX!!
I like the fact that the only time Applebloom said the words "cutie mark," it was in the context of "Cutie Mark Crusaders." Not sure how I felt about giving the Chimera a speaking role, though. In a few lines of dialogue, it went from being a dangerous predatory beast to a run-of-the-mill comedic antagonist. Overall, an enjoyable episode.
I found it pretty good considering it was another AJ/Bloom episode. AJ confirmed as Monster Hunter when she's not selling Apples. That creature was really something (I think It's a chimera) and the fight scene with AJ's Setup was quite entertaining. My only neighs was the slow start to it and the lack of Ponies besides the Apples, though I guess It would'nt fit the episode. It would of been nice to hear the rest of the song before Apple Bloom got cut off as-well. It's a good change from the last three episodes which were quite poor in my opinion and I believe it's a new guy that wrote this, So im Interested to see what he'll do next. Overall 6.5 Out Of Ten, But one of my favorite Apple episodes.

I am now 100% certain that Applejack is a Team Fortress 2 addict. Spoiler 1) She always wears a hat. 2) She has a closet-sized collection of hats. 3) She keeps forcing hats on her sister.
I thought this episode abused Applejack. She was unfortunately just a plot device. It was alright, though.
Applejack really annoyed me this episode. Which, I guess, was the point, but they overdid it in my opinion. The rest of the episode was pretty okay.
I thought that episode was perfectly in-character for AJ. In Bridle Gossip, she showed that she is an extremely overprotective big sister. In quite a few episodes, she's shown herself to be more than a little obsessive. Therefore, when she decides to obsess over protecting Applebloom, it only makes sense that she would go a little crazy.
^ I agree. To me, she seems a very protective character and focuses on what's important to her, That being her friends, family and any jobs that need doing. Leaving you're youngest Kin to watch over everything that's important to you is quite a big thing, So the constant monitoring of Apple Bloom didn't seem out of place, Just a little over the top.
Any episode showcasing AJ's badassery is A-OK by me. Sure, her overprotectiveness got pretty over the top, but it's entirely believable given that she's basically Apple Bloom's mother figure; when you raise your younger siblings in your parents' place, you tend to form a parental bond with them, so her difficulty in "letting go" and giving AB some independence is quite understandable and not at all OOC in my book. Just over the top. ...Which, hey, if it's AJ we're talking about, the more over the top, the better. On a side note, I liked how dark AB's trek into the swamps was, both in visuals and tone. In an age where soccer moms are liable to weep over cross-eyed horsies, I'd not be surprised if someone raised a stink about nightmarish creatures with a hankering for "filly fillets" in a children's show.
