I think Discord is much more evil than I expected (from spoilers), but he still has good sense of humor (dancing on Twilight's head). Also now I like Fluttershy even more, they way she stood up against Discord. Overall, it's very adventure plot, and it's very interesting. I can't wait for next Saturday. also .. I posted a lot of stuff around the board. this board is going crazy

Unlike most (if not all) of my posts, where I read everypony else's reply before I post, I'm replying first, then reading. So forgive me if I repeat some of the things that have been said: I'm not disappointed by this episode at all. Although there were a few things that I did find odd. LIKES I really like Discord's character. The video clip gave the wrong impression that he was more of a jokester instead of being evil. Now I can see he's both. I really liked his ending line when he mentioned prepare for a storm of chaos. Heh. I was thinking of my fantasy of causing a perpetual thunderstorm. I also love his voice and his laugh. Pinkie Pie is his favorite too! Discord, I am not disappointed. I think you and I would get along fine. Heh heh heh. I was amused from the very start with the cotton-candy cloud, and then the chocolate (milk) rain. When I saw that, I immediately thought of this song. Haha. Then Pinkie Pie, later on, emphasized "Chocolate Rain." I wonder if that was a hidden reference to that song. As Pinkie Pie is my favorite character, I enjoyed her shenanigans in the show; drinking the rain, lying in chocolate puddles, eating the cotton-candy clouds, not being disappointed that the Elements were missing, laughing at Discord being on top of Twilight's head. Haha, Pinkie, you're so funny. The scene with Fluttershy was hilarious, as Discord simply couldn't convince Fluttershy to hate her friends. That was until he had to just resort to using his powers. Seeing Fluttershy act like a bit-... well, you know... was funny. There is nothing in the episode that I "dislike," but there were some things I found strange/odd: WHAT I FOUND ODD I'm glad that Princess Celestia referenced Luna, but still, where the hell is she? Once it was revealed that the Elements were missing, Pinkie Pie said she was going outside to sip from the chocolate puddles with a straw, yet, when the scene comes back, she's right there!!! How come Applejack didn't notice Discord when he was puppeteering above? She looked upward after the whole scene with the apple-puppets (Keepers of the Grove trolls?), and didn't even acknowledge that he was hovering above her. I think they messed up with Pinkie Pie when she became unhappy. I think it violates the continuity from "Party of One." I thought once Pinkie Pie was unhappy, her mane was supposed to become straight and smooth (Or as some fans call it, her "Pinkamena" self). This didn't happen. Part of me is glad it didn't, but I was surprised that she didn't revert back to that part of her. Eeyup. So, overall, I enjoyed this episode and look forward to Part 2. I'm glad that Discord is a little more evil than he originally appeared to be. Now I can take his character a little more seriously. He's got that Jokeresque feel about him: Jokes around, but is a serious threat. Also, his favorite element was Pinkie Pie (Laughter), I wanted to brohoof the TV screen when I saw that. lol!
Well, here's the thing about that that makes me think it's a reference... "Chocolate Rain Makes the best of friends begin to fight Chocolate Rain But did they know each other in the light?" Don't you think that's a bit-- Too -- Much of a coincidence? I think it IS a clear reference to the song. I don't expect most people to get it though.
Okay initial thoughts on the season 2 premiere: 1: Discord is actually a far better villain then I thought he would be, not only does he have John DeLancie voicing him but hes got traits of Q all over him, hes Q's overall attitude but also the way he manipulated the ponies is very The Master from Doctor Who. Discord not only is the master of chaos but he is good at manipulating not only objects but people making him a very legitimate threat to the world. So much for the atypical trickster villain I thought he might be, so kudos to the creative staff (also kudos for throwing in the snap of the fingers a'la Q) 2: Where in the hell is Luna? 3: All of the discord influenced ponies are hilarious, best one is Discord Rarity I think I like her better as a selfish b!#(h. 4: Fluttershy you are awesome, even Discord had issues with making you evil. So in character too. 5: This episode has a LABYRINTH! Lol. CMC freaking woke up Discord. Thankfully I watched the premier on television before I went to class! I loved this episode, and liked the idea of the Cotton Candy Clouds / Chocolate Rain That was probably why they greyscaled the short clip before the episode even aired.
