It's that time again!!!!!! Kinda had a feeling this would be a redemption episode. Kinda like the 2nd time we saw Trixie. Not a lot of fluff aside from Pinkie's usual antics. A little bit of an allusion to some racism too but I think it was handled pretty well. The backstory and character development for Gilda made for a good story element. Overall, I'm pleased with the result. 8/10!
I liked this episode. And I'm now really sad that Amy Keating Rogers is leaving the show. Rainbow Dash acted like Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie acted like Pinkie Pie. She knows how to write these two. There are too many episodes where they just don't act... "right". I'm glad they did in this one. Way up there on my favorite episodes this season for that fact alone.

I really liked this episode. It was good to see Gilda again and she's learning to make friends. I really loved RD's mane when she was imitating Twilight. Oh my gosh! Yes, young Gilda was so adorable!
First of all, let me start out by saying that I liked this episode A WHOLE LOT MORE than the last episode. Now, unfortunately, I'm one of those people that didn't like Gilda and to be completely honest, I didn't like seeing her again. My frustration continues when she continued to prove how much of a jerk she is. However, I did like the character development they did with her in the flashback. Now if only she could be like that now I wouldn't dislike her and be more willing to accept her. Plus, this episode made it abundantly clear that griffons are unbelievably greedy. Issues with griffons aside... I really liked this episode. Makes me forgive what happened with the previous episode. Yay for another GREAT episode!! P.S.: No I still don't like Gilda.
I'm staring to hate Gilda a little less now after the episode, my hate hasn't completely gone away yet but I don't hate her as much as I once did.
What's everyone's problem with Gilda? She was a great minor antagonist, and now she's shaping up to be a great protagonist.
My guess is that it's because in her first episode she was mean to Fluttershy And for her rabid fans that's unforgivable, I suppose...
Same here, I'm also starting to like her a little bit now as well, I feel like the reason she was so hard and rude to Fluttershy in Griffon The Brush Off is because judging by the flashback from this episode she used to be shy herself, it makes so much sense if you think about it.
Eh, the episode was okay, I guess. Personally, I didn't like it very much. The griffons were bland and uninteresting and the whole redemption story felt pretty sappy even by series standards. Also, there is this potentially priceless artifact lying around right next to some of the greediest creatures in all of Equestria and I'm supposed to believe that Rainbow Dash was the first to ever have the idea to try and get this thing by climbing down the abyss? Yeah, sure. Also, isn't it funny how hard the episode tried to convince us that Gilda, our favorite season 1 jerk, is in actually downright angelic compared to the other griffons? Ha. Ha. Ha... And hey, isn't it nice how Twilight, despite really wanting to go to Griffonstone, decided to stay at home simply because the map didn't make it mandatory for her to accompany Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie? I can only imagine her sulking all day because of this. You know your life has taken a wrong turn when you let a table make all decisions for you.
I think there's some room for more Grampa Gruff story-time hilarity. Especially if you got enough bits. Anyways, in short, I liked the episode, I almost died because of Little Gilda, and I'm happy to see another episode that goes more into a underused character that I wanted to see develop more.
I wonder how long the followup episode to this one will take? Griffonstone is still a slum, and Gilda's the only one currently trying to change it. I'm sorta hoping that the next Gilda episode will have her as the new ruler of the Griffon kingdom.
I just watched this one today. I ended up really liking it, since before Griffon designs had only partially been canon, since Gilda had been the only canon Griffon, but now we can see how diverse their anatomy can be. I also enjoyed the legend thrown into the mix, especially with the pit and the skull and all that. It's the little things that make a story seem authentic. I also liked that Gilda was still slightly abrasive (in a positive way) after becoming Dash's friend once more, since it kind of adds to the mix of personalities that reformed villains have had. From Luna to Trixie, most of the reformations seem to push former villains to be more happy and smiley, with the only previous exception being Discord. Gilda was able to use what would otherwise be unkind language in a joking way, which adds to the show's commentary on friendship in a rare way.
I've looked at this episode, and some were not getting the point of it. The thing that needed help was not just the city, it was also Gilda. She was given the job of spreading friendship in griffinstone, so the quest was not to recover the treasure, but to give Gilda a purpose, but I guess she had one, but not sure. Pinkie was the best one to help her with her problem, Rainbow only helped give her a little push. So the real treasure here is friendship, easy to see why. I'm not too good at explaining things very well, but I hope I made my point.
