EXPECTATIONS: REALITY: Between this and "Thanos Plows Through All Opposition Unharmed: The Movie", I guess the theme of this week is dissapointment. Yeah...I don't like this episode. This was supposed to be important. This was supposed to be the episode where Starlight confronts her past and overcomes it, when she comes face-to-face with the ones responsable for turning her into a monster. Instead, we get an hybrid between "Meet the Fockers" and "Welcome to Collingwood". And the worst part is that most of the time, the focus is on Sunburst instead of Starlight.
Dear Princess Celestia, Today I learned why Starlight Glimmer is evil. I don't condone it, but I understand. She still belongs in Tartarus. I will pitch in for the train ticket. Yours Faithfully, Dragonbait
How? How did we learn that? Her parents are nice and gentle. There is nothing that shows the trauma that was implied in "The Cutie Remark".
Welcome to Sire Hollow! Well then, looks like we got 2 problems for the price of one! Welcome to Sire Hollow! I like how the problem seemed so simple to Glims and Sunburst but the REAL issue was obvious from the train ride. TBH, I was pretty dense as a kid so I wouldn't have caught it then. Welcome to Sire Hollow! Some very relatable parent/child conflict going on. Good resolution too. Also, Sunburst's mom, while overbearing, is friggin' CUUUUUTE!!!!! Welcome to Sire Hollow! Tidbits: Did that greeting remind anyone else of the Nuka-World greeting from Fallout 4? I feel like the pony with s&p hair and glasses is a reference I don't get. Finally, I NEED THAT FRIGGIN' GUITAR!!!!!! Overall: 7/10 And before I forget... WELCOME TO SIRE HOLLOW!!! (Also, @Dragonbait, how is Starlight still evil? Please Elaborate!)
What parent/child conflict? Starlight's dad isn't abusive or mean, and he seems to be unaware of Starlight's past actions. There was no conflict at all.
They are totally siblings. Those two parents have another secret they aren't sharing. It was kinda blatantly obvious.
