she sounds like eska from the legend of korra http://th02.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/f/2013/278/7/5/mad_eska_by_tankball-d6p9ht8.jpg
After finally getting round to watching this, It was worth the wait. Maud was a great character who was genuine and lovable in a weird way. I also loved Pinkie's animation in this because it really helped to create the scene and emotions. The poem scene was really funny and Rarity's hat sure was something. I can't really find many faults with this at all unless they could of squeezed in a song. Overall I really enjoyed this episode and it brings me faith that Season 4 has still got quality to show. 8 Out Of Ten... I can now see the resemblance to Raven, though the last time I watched Teen Titans was about 6 Years Ago.
Is it just me, or was Maud's poetry genuinly brilliant?
I simply loved this episode from start to finish, I think Maud has firmly become my new favourite one off character! If thinking this episode is worthy of 10/10 is wrong, then I don't want to be right.
lol Not if the fans have anything to say about it, and i think by now it's established that they do. By the way, her cutie mark: It's a rock... For those who have trouble reading Maud's emotions, this might help a little: Spoiler
I thought they were awful. But then I hate poetry, so maybe I'm not the guy to ask. Still, I thought they sounded bad, even for poems.
I'm almost half-sure that Maud has some sort of... syndrome. Or something. Plus it was a very meh episode. Literally.
She seemed to show signs of mild Aspergers Syndrome. Not sure if intentional or not, but there's quite the resemblance.
Possibly, it wouldn't be a surprise if they have a character that seems that way, intentional or not cause many bronies & otakus have AS (myself include). Still have yet to see the character, but she is my favorite S4 character just by what I know so far. She's obsessed with rocks as in fragments of earth, I'm obsessed with rock as in heavy-guitar music, friendship! But besides Raven-esque which I caught when I first saw her, she also seems to be similar to Judy from the 90s cartoon Doug. Kind of a goth-hipster (or beatnik) concept I feel from her. But on hipster concepts, I liked her before all the pics and memes made her mainstream (when I saw a peek on Thursday). Sadly, all the Maud pics I have, somepony here already is using one.
From some of the analysts I've seen speak on the subject, I've heard a lot of minor dislikes about Maud's character. I on the other hand cannot dislike Maud! Just her eccentric behavior, being all into rocks endlessly with no end. She reminds me of Pinkie Pie very much, although directed in a different way =P. I really liked Maud, and personally want to write a Maud x Cheese ship fic
I really like Maud. She may be the polar opposite of her sister in many ways, but she still diplays the trademark weirdness of the Pie family. She is really charming in a way.
Eh, it was okay, I guess. I'm not quite sure what to think about it. There was not much to dislike, but also not much to like. Same with Maud, who was just kinda there. I mean, I get that this was part of the joke: Pinkie describes Maud as some sort of super fun, super intelligent, super talented pony with lots of varied interests, and when we finally get to see her, she is this very plain, very one-dimensional character who only talks about rocks the whole time. Sure, the scene where she saves Pinkie was pretty cool, but it was only made possible because none of the other characters remembered that they are usually quite capable of handling situations like these themselves. But eh... I guess Twilight's horn simply ran out of magic off-screen or something. Not sure. Also, I was a bit disappointed about the lesson. At first, it seemed that they were going for something like "you can't befriend everyone in the world even if you really wanted to, but that's okay, because you can still be respectful towards each other", but then they sort of copped out by having Twilight basically go "Hey, we all care about Pinkie, so we do have one common interest and that means we can be best friends after all, right?" Eh. But seeing how popular this episode seems to be with most others, I do have to wonder if I missed something.
