As we all probably know, there are two types of discussion. - The silly light-hearted discussions. - The serious discussions. I'd like to propose a subforum in the General Discussion section for these more serious discussions. - Some people enjoy debating in serious discussions, thus making it easier to find them. - People who don't like them won't get accidently sucked into them and they can avoid them alltogether. - It will be easier for moderators to monitor the serious threads, which sometimes get out of hand more easily. In short, it'll be a section for threads discussing more sensitive subjects such as religion, politics, sexuality, morality, etc. in which members can debate these things under more effective supervision. Anyway, this was just an idea i had in the back of my head, so i thought i'd mention it.
I shall now direct you to this locked thread that was posted a few months back. Perhaps you can read it. http://www.everypony.com/forums/showthread.php?2546-*Suggestion*-A-serious-discussion-sub-forum Also, speaking from experience, a debate can turn into an argument real fast. All it takes is one flankhurt individual to ruin a debate and turn it into a circus of insults.
Ironic that even that thread was reffering to an even older thread with the same suggestion... -_- Threads like that already exist now. Which is why i'm suggesting this idea. Anyway, if this idea was already brought up several times before, i guess it's pointless in bringing it up again...
